1  Re: Notecard Set Swap in The Swap Gallery by dharma_rebel on: June 03, 2017 05:50:50 PM
What a talented bunch! I'm so jealous of everyone's watercolor skills. I'm loving the salted watercolor and thinking that might be fun to try with my kid this summer. I just got home from a 3 day work trip and was greeted by BOTH of my partners note card sets. They both used watercolors.

CraftyMamaBee used watercolor pencils and a set from Stampin' Up. I love the abstract and patterns and the use of washi tape. I'm late to the washi party but it's become one of my favorite supplies.

SmileyYogini swam with my sea theme. She made gorgeous watercolor/pen and ink works of art. I'm going to send one of the whales off to my whale obsessed cousin right away to thank her for putting me up and feeding me for the last few days.

Thank you both so much! This was such a fun swap to ease back into the Land of Swapping!

2  Valentine's Ornaments in Valentine's Day by dharma_rebel on: February 06, 2017 11:07:36 AM

Hey, guys! Long time, no craft. I took on PTA president of my kid's school in September and I have had NO TIME for myself or anything crafty since then. What a thankless job. I resigned last week. First, I drank champagne in the tub and then I hightailed it over to JoAnn's to buy some fabric and make something. I fell in love with the striped dish towel looking fabric first and decided I wanted to make some Valentines ornaments for the tree I couldn't bear to take down after Christmas.

They were super easy - I cut out a heart template from paper and then cut a ton of fabric hearts. Stitched them together with embroidery thread and filled them with a tiny bit of polyfill.

What do you think?

I received from Adadian Driftwood today!

Side one, with a beautifully embroidered triquetra.

And side two! I love it and with all of the sachets I've received my drawers smell fantastic!

5  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Rd. 10 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dharma_rebel on: December 15, 2014 08:20:44 AM
I just love window stars! That reminds me, that I have a big package of kite paper. That might be fun to do today, while my dd is stuck home sick.
Please forgive that I haven't posted pics of my stocking that I received early last week. My week was filled with meetings and other obligations, and I went out of town for the weekend for a few Christmas parties. My stocking from Beeker is much loved though, because it fits me perfectly.

Although I've grown out of wearing Converse All Stars on a daily basis (I know own a pair of real cowgirl boots) I still own about 30 pair. Now, I have 30 1/2!

I received a ton of beautiful handmade ornaments

Marley's favorite - she says it's the two of us

I especially love the tiny little gourds. Speaking of gourds, I got my very own gourd container!

A festive hat!

Jewels

Chocolate deliciousness! Two of the cocoa reindeer and chocolate spoons have been used. The reindeer food (chex with white chocolate and powdered sugar) and a couple of candy bars have also disappeared. IN MY BELLY!!!
Finally, a group shot of the purchased items, including fun, soft, flannel, a to-go cup, gloves I can leave on while I text, a candle holder, fun straws, gift tags, paper punches, nail decals, recipe cards... all sorts of great goodies!

Thanks so much, Beeker!

I received my package from Onyxnox over the weekend. What you guys can do with paper amazes me!
Group shot

In the interest of saving space, I will only post close ups of tags that haven't been posted yet. For real, though, the detail on these is incredible!

Thanks for such an awesome swap - I cannot wait to wrap my Christmas presents!

Yay! Glad you liked them, rackycoo. I just happened to get yours out of the mailbox today. You must have remembered that I mentioned "Elf" in the sign up thread, because LOOK at these cuties!

I totally need something like the birdie clothspins from LimeRiot to hang on my mantle to hold the kiddo's art work.
The monsters are the cutest. I never thought about binding a perpetual calendar like that! Duh.
Holy epic embroidery, batman. Do you sleep? And, yeah, I'll never look at dollar store figurines the same again.
Amazing package (as per ususal) from Abeeroad. I love how she and her husband work together so often. Ahhhh, love. I've been ogling her posts of the art nouveau girls on instagram but I have to say I am most jealous of the scissor scarf.

I got my package from Wonderwoman1976 on Thursday, but had to rush out of town for work for a few days. But I finally got some pics taken and I'm here to show off. I asked for some boho jewelry and here is what I got!

Here is the whole shebang. Some crocheted tam hats ("Seahawks colors!" my daughter says. "See who?" says I. I know, blasphemy in Washington state). The navy one fits Marley and the green one fits me! Handspun yarn, several bracelets and a couple pair of earrings, art/envelope journal, and a beautiful mustard colored scarf that had to worn right away.

Close up of the handspun. I'm hoping there is enough to make a cowl out of it. I have to figure out how to meaure how much yarn is there.

closer shot of the jewelry collection

close up of my favorite bracelet with an excellent reminder. I'm always getting anxious and forgetting to breathe.

my other favorite bracelet. I love the paper beads and the tiny little hamsa.

Thanks for swapping with me!

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been around commenting all that much, but I have been pinning like a madwoman. I've had a crazy couple months and it feels like the hits just keep on coming, you know? Anyway, crafting has helped keep me sane and wonderwoman1976 asked me to dust off my sewing maching and make her a hobo bag for this swap. Since she doesn't get on here all that much, and I know it is out for delivery, I feel like it's safe for me to post pics. I'm super proud of this bag.

Side one

Side two

The outsides of the bag were made from cloth napkins I scored in the clearance department of World Market. One of them cost me a whopping penny! I wish I had taken better pics of the inside pockets and lining. All those fabrics were vintage pieces out of my stash.

I also send some extras - a zipper pouch made and fairly traded in West Africa that I found at a street fair, and some jewelry supplies.
