1  Re: OK....sewing a wedding dress? in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by Kaiser Scissorhands on: December 06, 2010 01:32:02 AM
I made my dress. It was 2 pieces: A circle skirt and a corset/bustier type top. I used the roethke tute for the top and just drew up a few extra angles for the boobs.

Unless your friend is heart set on a certain type of dress, you may do better with two pieces. you can mix and match styles, giving you a huge amount of options. Also, check out burda styles for cheap or free patterns. They have a pretty decent plus section, and even one plus formal dress. I have quite a collection of their patterns, so feel free to PM me for more info.

Muffin Merge 08 was successful. And our feet are just touching the ground since. I hadn't put pictures here yet, but I'll keep it minimal and link to my post and the flickr.

3  MuffinMerge 08 (more pictures that everposted prieviously) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Kaiser Scissorhands on: November 11, 2008 01:47:09 PM

The centerpieces. which were all put together by friends while I was getting dressed. That picture is from our friends Jay and Liz's wedding last spring. There were pictures of our families and friends.

Favors, with the instructional "put the pictures here" cards

Our program board, in lieu of many paper programs

The other favors...The minimuffin buffet. I made the plates from random cut glass pieces.

What the bridesmaid outfit generally looked like, as modeled by my youngest sister. I made the sashes, people chose their own black dresses (although it was aparently a navy year in retail because we had the hardest time finding plain black dresses.)

My attire (I made these):

Head accoutrement

This is to show my shoes (spraypainted from brown leather to wonderful sparkly blue) ... And my husband.

I also made the bouquets and boutineers and the mom corsages.

Other Fun things made by:

Cake by my sister (raspberry and white chocolate with buttercream frosting) and a topper purchased from melabo on etsy.

Helper presents by me and photoshop.

My ring from shade jewelry on etsy

Basler Buffet... Made by my dad and Family.

Dear lord, that's a lot of stuff. PM me if you want tutes on any of the made stuff, I can either provide one or send you the one I used.

4  Hoodie Shirt with Tutorial in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Kaiser Scissorhands on: April 21, 2007 07:34:52 AM
I'm having wardrobe crises regularly, so last night I made myself a shirt with a hood.

Shirt from the front.

Better view of hood.

TUTORIAL: (done in MSPaint Shocked)

My boyfriend stealing the shirt halfway through, putting it on and running away from me.
And the retaliatory pictures on the internet.

Any questions, post them or pm me.

5  Daria Mural in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Kaiser Scissorhands on: April 17, 2007 03:01:17 PM
This is the mural I did when I was an RA at school. Each RA had to come up with a floor theme. Mine was incredible. It took forever.

The elevator opened to the Daria and Jane. THe banner says "welcome to Lawndale 1st Floor."

Postings board

The opposite side view of the first picture. Ms. Li was on the facing wall. It was the rules and regs board.

6  Re: Questions About Hairstyles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by Kaiser Scissorhands on: April 17, 2007 12:51:59 PM
i think that you could pull off black, i think it would look really good with your light skin and blue eyes too.  what i'd like to know is if you think that i could ever pull off all bleach blonde...

i've been really wanting it short and super blonde for a long time now, but nearly everyone tells me not to do it.  so i've just been doing the underside of my bangs.  anyway, what are your thoughts?

I always had free reign over my hair, because it'll grow out, can be dyed and bleached. So go for it. If you don't like it, Spend the 10 bucks to dye it back. tell your friends they'll get used to it.

Ok. this is my hair now:
It is LONG. and I have fallen into ponytail/braids rut. I want to cut it, but i need to have the ability to pull it back (for my own sanity) and I just recently learned to frenchbraid (out of necessity), but it is the longest it's ever been and I don't think I can stand it anymore.

So what the hell do I do.

Also, I am lazy and don't spend time on my hair (hence ponytail rut) unless it's a Very special occasion. Suggestions?

Here are a couple other hairdo history moments for reference.

a midrange photo (Grow out phase)

wicked short.

7  Re: Dollar Store Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Kaiser Scissorhands on: April 09, 2007 06:46:11 PM
I looked right at that tee and said blue barracudas. I was all about the Silver Snakes myself.

These are the things from Gwydion:

It's a hanging organizer, pen/paintbrush/small scissors holder, spirograph necklace and matching bracelet made from clear coated wire, a paperweight (with the same pattern--I'll have to get a better picture), a really cute journal with different scrapbooking papers on the inside and a charm on the binding. There is also spirograph/bead decoration that was attached to a bow (because she wrapped everything) that i'm going to use as a bookmark. And an AMAZING light box. She used an led push light inside and put pinholes around all of the circles, so it glows. I love it all.

A horrible picture of me in my great hat.

A closer look at the LED light box (we're using it as a night light--Or more accurately, the "light switch is across the room" light)

8  Ill fated retro dress. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Kaiser Scissorhands on: February 02, 2007 02:35:45 PM
I love the movie "But I'm a Cheerleader" and all the dresses Natasha Lyonne wears when she's not in her rehab uniform. So I decided to try to make one.

on the dummy.

on me in my apparently color blind sister's room

I used two different patterns for the top and sort of winged the skirt.

Unfortunately, It met a tragic end when my mom tossed it in the washing machine before I had finished the side seams. And then told me she had ruined the green dress that I made for my boy toy's sister's wedding. I almost had a damn heart attack.

i don't know if anyone else has been sucked in by Bunny, but it is a UK comic strip featuring Bunny and his strange scenarios. I'm starting xmasing early this year and made Bunny for my old supervisor (the guy who Bunnied me to begin with).

This is bunny.

These are my Bunnies.

He better love them, because if not, I'm taking them back.
