1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / I eat emo pansies for breakfast. on: February 28, 2006 01:44:06 PM
It has been lightyears since I have posted anything mostly because I looked at my wardrobe and discovered that 98% of it is tshirts. So naturally, I stopped silkscreening shirts for a while but I'm back with 2 shirts.

This one was a quick "I told you I was going to make this" shirt.
Bradley Hathaway is an amazing Christian poet, I high recommend checking him out Wink shamelessly promoting

And this is my pride and joy-ha! No no, for my graphic arts class we had to have a "presentation of your work" project. If you think the shirt is good you should see the posterboard that displays it.

It's He is Legend's I am Hollywood, but I changed the name Heather to Lara for a personal touch. It was 2 weeks of work, but would have been 1 if I hadn't been so preoccupied with college work.
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Pride and Prejudice watercolor on: December 21, 2005 07:48:56 AM
I completely messed up Jane's nose.  Embarrassed
The movie was great, and if you have not seen it, well, I strongly encourage you to!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cutesy Coat w/ heart shaped buttons! (even though you don't need one in FL) on: December 21, 2005 07:46:46 AM
So my mom told me I had too many jackets and refused to buy me fabric. Well, I went to walmart and found houndstooth for 2 bucks a yard, and then picked up a rainbow heart lining and buttons. Around 10 hours later...

Yeah by the way I didn't realize the collar was popping up like that so just IGNORE  Grin

I'm really proud because I did this all by myself this time, no help from ANYONE, and if my mother's pinking sheers weren't dull then it probably would have taken half the time to make [cutting numerous triangles in seam allowances is enough to drive anyone insane].

ps. this is the pattern [view A, modified tabs to be rounded] http://www.simplicity.com/assets/4403/4403.jpg
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / In desperate need of some Christmas music. on: October 27, 2005 05:39:47 PM
If you're like me, as soon as the weather starts getting cool you're cranking up the Christmas tunes.

Unfortunately I'm running out of hip remakes.

Relient K- Anything from Deck the Halls, Bruise your Hand
Rilo Kiley- Xmas Cake
Fall Out Boy- Yule Shoot Your Eye Out
Something Corporate- Forget December
Phantom Planet- Winter Wonderland
The Matches- December is for Cynics
NFG- Ex Mas
Blink 182- I Wont be Home for Christmas
Weezer- Christmas song
Eisley- Winter Song
Simple Plan- My Christmas List

Add to the list please! I'm in desperate need of sing alongs [you can only sing deck the halls so many times  Wink]

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Watercolor: Tim Burton. on: October 04, 2005 02:52:45 PM
I started this painting Friday, I think, and worked on it for 4 periods.
Since I got put into Drawing and Painting 1 again [I'm a Portfolio II student, which I believe is the highest or 2nd highest art we have] I get to work on whatever project I want to.

My mom says I've been making immense improvement in my watercolor technique. Even my teacher was impressed. Anyway, I'm going into graphic design in college so this will be part of my portfolio.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Rock N Roll Themed 18th birthday on: July 18, 2005 09:32:24 AM
My 18th birthday is coming up in a little less than a month, and last night my mother suggested a music theme [since I'm soooo into rock bands]. We contemplated the possibilities, and all I've come up with are:

Watching music themed movies, taking "promo" pictures, actually creating music, writing songs, making mixtapes/cds [I was thinking about this as a party favor]

I've completely run out of ideas beyond those, and am not sure how many music themed movies are out there [that are worth watching]. So far all I can think of are School of Rock and Empire Records [which I have no seen].

Please provide me with any ideas you come up with for this theme, ahhh! I'll have to send out invitations soon if I want to have it before some of my friends go off to college.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Procrastination, neglect, boredom...whatever ya wanna call it on: May 11, 2005 02:38:15 PM
The ultimate classic rock t-shirt. I have no idea how long I spent on it, 1-2 weeks probably. Sometimes in class I have a tendency to do homework that I didn't do, or just uh, read. Heh. Anyway, the paint is cracking for some reason so I'll be soaking it sometime to break in the ink. To be honest I don't like it and it will most likely be sold.
This was a test shirt so there are 3 things on it. Good thing I tested Gumby too because it didn't line up correctly the first time, and besides, his eyes should be white. Bottom are some TL+RX "patches" I made. Oh look there's my demented foot. Just look away...

They were all silkscreens, the first done with paper stencils, the other 2 with "green film" stencils adhered to the screen. Critique away!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Bleaching Backpacks? on: May 07, 2005 08:14:09 AM
I've got a backpack that is light pink [Eastpak] and last year I covered it with stars/bands names using Sharpie. I like the stars but the band names need to go, and I figured I could wash out the decoration.

Does anyone know if Sharpie can come out with the basic scrub or do I need to bleach it? If bleach how long do I need to leave the bleach in?
Bleaching would also give it a cool effect, but I don't want the threading to break from bleach.

Any information would be very kind. Thanks.
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 2nd installment [This time we used colored pencils] on: March 25, 2005 03:03:25 PM
My art teacher is a BIG fan of color so I've been experimenting in order to get good grades.
Let me know what you think.

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / HahaHarry Botta' on: February 25, 2005 01:49:35 PM
My friend Tati automatically asked how much I wanted for it.

Whatcha think? It had so many bridges in it that I spent a lot of time with my paint brush filling them in.

I just had to fix him, thank you cowsgomoo.
