1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Greek Runway Fashion Show -- Capri Sun Dress on: April 02, 2008 12:30:37 PM
Our chapter of Phi Mu took place in a on campus fundraiser based on Project Runway with outfits made from recycled materials, and I absolutely love our [my] contribution:

the top is trashbags, mostly done in knots and staples and the bottom is completely sewn with a laceup back.

Unfortunately, we didn't win the prize, but we still had a great time.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Music print pencil WALLET on: January 18, 2008 03:20:53 PM
I really always liked the pencil roll idea, but they always some how end up breaking, or the pencils fall out the top or something, so this plan formulated... Of course being away at college made finding a big enough zipper tough, but the friendly neighborhood shoe repair man sold me one finally =)

That really was too wordy for this..

It does actually go from red->black, but photobooth mirrors pictures, lol

Enjoy =)
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / What is your earliest crafty memory? on: January 08, 2008 07:11:23 PM
Today my grandmom and I were discussing the evolution of my "craftiness" back as far as either of us could remember..

My earliest? I made my father a tie-on fake mustache out of construction paper for fathers day when I was three. You can't make this stuff up..

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Most ghetto stencil job ever [aka COEXIST messenger bag] on: October 23, 2007 07:39:46 AM
After mindlessly cutting a stencil out of a piece of scrap posterboard, I decided I wanted to paint it on something. but what? In college, options are limited. After digging through my roommate and I's shared makeup drawer, I came up with some foam makeup applicators and fabric paint. (I don't understand either.)

The still attached stencil, showing makeup pads, etc.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Crazy Roomate Antics+Care Bear Deconstruction=New pillow? on: October 18, 2007 10:18:37 AM
My roommate was about to get rid of a Carebear her ex gave to her, and asked if I could do anything with it.. We remembered that a while back she had bought some fabric for me to do "something" with, so we decided to make a pillow with Carebear stuffing.

6  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southeast / West Chester University? on: August 09, 2007 10:58:24 AM
I'm about to start my first year of college at WCU, and I was wondering if there are any craftsters lurking the campus?
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Reversable Laptop bag on: August 03, 2007 11:53:58 PM
At 11:45 pm, I got the urge to sew. Two hours, 4 needles and 8 inches of handstitching when I gave up breaking needles later, I have this.

It can comfortable hold my iBook, John Stewart's America, and the Essential Eloise, along with the wall adapter, my ipod cord and my camera cord. On the front of both sides are two pockets in the alternet fabric. Striped fabric from JoAnn's, square fabric from Ikea. I'm happy.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / How much fabric can you get from a pair of jeans? [pirate maps and boobtubes] on: July 18, 2007 08:21:22 PM
I cut up a pair of jeans to make this skirt:

Then I had so much fabric left I made my biffy a little tube shirt with hook and eyes. Excuse the facial expression, she was mid DDR

There was probably enough to make a small clutch bag left, but it was in smaller peices so I tossed it.

Thanks for looking.
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Skull bag with pop-tab handle ++Tut for bag part added on Pg 3++ on: July 18, 2007 02:18:43 PM
I guess this is the right spot.. The bag is all new, but the strap is clearly reconed..

Skullfinity fabric from JoAnns, lined with the same fabric and has an inside pocket.

This is the full bag:

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Senior Prom Dress on: April 18, 2007 06:06:31 PM
This is by far the biggest project I've done to date, I'd love some feed back on it  Grin
