1  Re: January Jamboree! - IYP5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by KittyKurl on: February 03, 2007 12:37:09 PM
I received my package yesterday night from Cotneyroo, and took pictures this morning! I love it, everything is great!
Her knitting skills are astounding!

Here's the loot:

First of all, the awesome card!

Some pretty earrings:

Notecards with origami paper designs on the front:

A knitted cozy for my MP3 player! This will be put to good use, I've been needing one for awhile!

And my favorite of all, a gogeous knitted hat! I've been wearing it ever since I opened the package, I love it so! The detail is amazing, and it's so thick and warm!

Thank you so much, Cotneyroo! I love everything, and it was a lot of fun being dates with you! I hope you get your package soon!

2  Mini Angus Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by KittyKurl on: December 17, 2006 07:59:30 PM
I made this a couple weeks ago, another gift for my grandparents.
The image is the sign from their farm back in the day, as you can see, they ran an Angus farm!

Here it is:

and the back:

This was my one of my first tries at quilting, and I'm pretty happy with the way it came out! Though it is a bit lopsided...

3  Score Book in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by KittyKurl on: December 12, 2006 05:36:47 PM
This is a christmas gift for my grandparents that I finished last weekend. They can record scores from cards or other games in it, instead of always scrambling to find a piece of paper!
I had to scan the pictures, as my camera wasn't working, so the quality isn't that great:

It started out as this:

I used cardboard to make the covers stiff, and made the spine more sturdy (like a composition notebook).
I decorated the front and added endpapers. Voila!

I hope they like it!

I received my knit socks from Miss Mermaid Strikes Back a few days ago, and finally got around to taking pictures! Unfortunately, there hasn't been any sunlight around here for awhile, so the pictures aren't that good.

These are the hugest, most comfiest socks I've ever seen or worn!

She also sent these fuzzies:

They are both so comfortable and warm! I love them!
Thank you so much, Miss Mermaid! They are sure to keep my feet warm all winter!

I received my package from purrpower a few days ago.
Here's what I got!

Fingerless Gloves

Plus, some awesome ATCs! My first, ever! I couldn't get a very good picture of them, so if you have some better ones purrpower, feel free to post!

Thank you purrpower!

6  Forest Unicorn Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by KittyKurl on: July 30, 2006 08:26:14 PM
This was a birthday present for a friend. It's based off of the fabulous creation by Forestprints.com:

I came up with this:

As you can see, I had a few problems with the stencil, it came out all blobby so I had to straighten out the sides with blue paint  -_-;; But overall, I quite like it! It was easy to make, and very cute. It came out more.. square than I would like,  I think next time I will make more rounded sides. & that heart there is to cover up a paint spill...  Wink My friend liked, but she won't believe I made it myself!

A Rubik's Cube and a round thing with a flower on top Tongue!

The Rubik's cube is just a bit smaller than an actual one:

& just for fun.. a little mini cube that I made for my friend:

10  Tommy Hilfiger Patch Pocket Windbreaker~ in Designer Clothing Homage by KittyKurl on: April 28, 2006 07:54:46 PM
-Okay, I know, Tommy Hilfiger... but I LOVE this jacket. LOVE.
I have been eyeing coats in this style for awhile, I have seen people at school wearing the style like this. and I've really liked it for a long time. This is the first coat I've actually found at a store (actually, I saw it in a magazine and looked it up on their site *n_n)
This is the only picture I could find online of it, I know it's not very good. I also have a better picture in the magazine with no person in it >_<;; So I could scan it into the computor if it would help?

Ugh, pink.. nothing against pink of course, but I just don't think I could EVER wear a big.. pink.. coat.
I have a basic coat pattern. It has the shaped sides like this windbreaker does. What it doesn't have is the smocked bottom and cuffs. (or ribbing there, you could put that instead of smocked)
& it doesn't have a hood, pockets. It has a normal collar. (which this coat doesn't have a collar at all!)
And it doesn't have a zipper under the buttons. I have no idea how to do this! I've tried to think of ways, but nothing I can think of will work properly @_@
I have wool fabric, because I was originally going to make a warm coat to wear in winter, and I think I will stick to it because I don't want to go and buy more fabric O_O;;
-> Would wool work for this type of coat?

Also, I don't exactly know how to do smocking, so if anybody has links to tutorials, or tips & tricks, thanks!
& Would wool work for smocking, too?

Okay, I have lots of questions >_<;;
Thanks any help!!
