1  Some early Halloween spookiness inspired by The Purge movies...(image chubby) in Halloween Costumes by astrangeone on: August 22, 2016 09:10:35 PM
I go to a huge fan convention almost every year, and this year I wanted to wear a more topical costume.  Meet the characters from The Purge Election Year.

The masks all started life as a generic pack of paper masks.  Most of the other masks got a sculpting of air dry clay to modify the features AND brow ridges.  They then got a few coats of gesso.  The "Kiss Me" mask's eye strings were created by dipping parts of cotton balls into gesso, and letting them dry onto the rest of the mask.  The "God" mask features real cosmetics and dirt from a potted plant.

The Statue of Liberty mask was probably the hardest to create involving an electric drill AND a steady hand.

On - In the Dark

2  Re: One Tiny Winter Thing 2016 swap - send outs Feb 14 in The Swap Gallery by astrangeone on: February 20, 2016 10:29:45 AM

I'm loving the robin earrings and the trees!  (I didn't notice they were reversible until I took a photo of 'em.)

Thank you for swapping, Onyxnox!

Sorry about Canada Post breaking the snowflake earrings - they are still wonderful as is!

3  First Attempt at Nail Stickers at Home... in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by astrangeone on: March 20, 2014 07:59:03 PM
These were made with top/base coat, red/white/blue acrylic paint, purple marker...

I suck at applying 'em.  (Two hours, and way too many brain cells.)

5  First Time Carving Lino and Finished Product (Monster Hunter Logo) in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by astrangeone on: September 18, 2013 07:27:19 PM
Okay, I'm loving the details that you can do in lino.  (Although, I ended up stabbing myself twice with dull tools.  Ow.)  It's mounted on wood with a disc of craft foam and felt.

I made a couple of tee shirts with this.  (It's a dragon from Monster Hunter - the Rathalos!)

Finished Product!

Stamp and Tee Shirt Close up!

Yeah, that Mama magnet actually was a knitting color chart I made for the Crafting Mama contest we had here a while back? But I never actually knit it... it's just as good in perler beads, though!!  Wink I also have a Word file for the cards; you can print them on Avery postcard sheets... would anybody want them? Amigurl? Grin

I ALSO got my package on Tuesday~ And it's super lovely~!!! But I haven't taken the photos off my camera yet, will do that soon!!

Yes, please!  Those recipe cards are totally adorable.  Smiley

I went out to mail some stuff today, and I ended up seeing a package on my doorstop.  I pick it up, and leave it for later...

Ryn, I love all of this!  Smiley  It doesn`t look like a replacement craft item.  (I`m going to use these two storage boxes for my rubber stamps!)  The brachydios one is awesome - I`m going to put all my jewelry in here!  Smiley

As you see, I have a mania for earrings.  I have no idea why, but yeah...a big mania for m!  The Tetris ones are so small and cute!  (I have to fix the winding on the Katamari ones!)

10  Rubber Stamping: Video Game Style! (Moogle and Monster Hunter 3U) in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by astrangeone on: June 26, 2013 10:15:41 AM
*sleepy moogle*  Hi-ya, kupo!

The flagship monster from Monster Hunter 3G or 3 Ultimate.  Brachidios - the one with the slime effect.  If you notice, I accidentally damaged the ankle portion of this - I was clearing out the extra material and I nicked it.  Use sharp blades - so you don't have to force the darn thing!
