31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / IYP Three Way on: February 11, 2010 06:00:40 PM
(original thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=333961.0 )

Ok girls, here are the cards I got from Stiffly. They're fantastic and are perfect for my ATC tray.

32  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tu vives en mi corazon on: January 24, 2010 05:21:38 PM
I went with the theme of "tu vives en mi corazon", which a friend kindly translated for me and promises means "you live in my heart"...

33  UNITED STATES / Missouri / Venus Envy? on: January 20, 2010 06:27:14 AM
Does anyone know if there is still a Venus Envy show here in StL? I haven't been for a few years and can't seem to find any current info.
34  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / IYP Three Way! (sign ups Jan 11th until Jan 17th - Send date is Feb 18th) on: January 11, 2010 06:53:10 PM
Bear with me, I'm new at this  Wink

This is a little different from your average IYP Swap. In this swap, instead of having one partner, you will be in groups of three, all crafting for each other.  You must have two partners to sign up. That is, you must contact your potential partners via pm and the three of you must mutually agree to be partnered together. Once you have partners, each of you must pm me with your information, and after doing all the necessary double checking, I will post your  trio  as participants and add this swap to your "In progress" feedback.

As partners, you will choose if you want to have a theme, if you want to post stalk each other and be surprised, or if you want to request from each other’s things you have admired in the past. You should also agree on quantity. We will have a four week crafting time (less time than the past IYPs), so make sure that you only commit to what you can craft in that time frame.  Feel free to start crafting for your partner as soon as the three of you have officially signed up!

If you have any instances of 'poor swapping' documented in your feedback (such as 'no communication' 'did not craft in the spirit of the swap') or numerous instances of sending very late, I reserve the right to deny your request to join the swap. You will not be accepted if you are currently late in any IYP Swaps.

RULES:
Swappers will receive temporary negative feedback if:
- It is one week past send-outs and you are out of communication.
- It is two weeks past send-outs and you have not yet sent, regardless of the communication with us and your partners.
- Even if you decide with your partners that you are sending late and they says it’s alright, you MUST send by two weeks past the send out date or this will be reflected in negative feedback.  Once you do send, you will have positive feedback again, BUT this late sending will be reflected in your comments even if you communicated.

ONE NOTE: It is a little scary to ask someone to be your partner. Some people may have someone else already in mind, or they may not have the time or funds to participate right now, or they may just not be interested. We need to remember to be nice if we feel we need to refuse someone, and to not take it personally if someone else turns us down.
Here's what you need to do:

1. Contact your partners (make sure they're both in good standing, swapwise), and agree to join together
2. All three partners must PM me (Amaryllisroze) and each other with mailing information.  Please also send your mailing info to your partners.
3. Post in this thread so I can keep up with you!
4. Make sure you can mail on time, and provide me with a DC number when you do.
5. Pm your partners and me when you receive as well! Your partners CANNOT get feedback unless you send me a PM. Thank your partners both in a PM and publicly in the gallery. If you are unable to post pictures, please let your partners know before they send to you. In this case, you still need to post in the gallery about what you received.
6. Lack of PMs to me and your partners will be noted in feedback!!!
7. Have fun!

35  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Specimen No. 1 on: December 08, 2009 04:10:54 AM
Its been awhile since I've done anything that wouldn't really be considered a "paper craft". Here goes....

This is an old book cover and a bunch of random found objects. (its hard to tell but that's a hunk of fungus in the upper right corner)

I think I'm happier with this piece than any I've done in a very long time. The best part is that I did this one completely because I wanted to, not because it was for someone else.

You can click on the pictures to be taken to Flickr to see more detail. Its hard to get good pics of this thing without natural daylight.
36  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / The Butterfly Project: Holocaust Museum Houston(2010-2011) on: June 22, 2009 06:59:05 AM
http://www.hmh.org/ed_butterfly1.shtml

I saw this post last week by PrincessJasmine and it occured to me how much our awesome papercrafters could contribute. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=291265.0

We have until June 30, 2011 to send in butterflies so there is a lot of time and the guidelines are very simple:
    * Butterflies should be no larger than 8 inches by 10 inches.
    * Butterflies may be of any medium the artist chooses, but two-dimensional submissions are preferred.
    * Glitter should not be used.
    * Food products (cereal, macaroni, candy, marshmallows or other perishables) also should not be used.

Join me in making butterflies for this amazing exhibit! This thread isn't limited to strictly paper crafts, I invite anyone who creates butterflies to post here. (I haven't finished any of mine just yet, but will update the thread as soon as I do.)

Here is my entry...I took the essence of a woman and broke it down.

I think I might need to add more pages at some point, but this was the first run. I'm pretty happy with it.
38  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Inspiration vs. Rip-off on: March 19, 2009 09:56:49 AM
I don't like the subject line I used but I couldn't think of a short way to say it...

I see a lot of really amazing work here that I am very inspired by. I would love to use some of the same ideas, but with my own Aroze spin on them, of course.

If you see someone post something that is very similar to a piece you've created, do you feel flattered that they've been inspired by you or do you feel miffed by them ripping off your ideas? If they credit you for the idea or technique, would that make it better?
39  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Book/Stage Box on: January 25, 2009 12:46:53 PM
I made this using a small paper mache book box (about 4 inches tall) and some clip art from an old Somerset Workshop magazine.

40  UNITED STATES / Missouri / "St. Louis" recipes on: November 08, 2008 09:40:24 AM
I'm in need of recipe ideas that are distinctly "St. Louis"...

So far I have toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake and Famous Bar Onion Soup...any more ideas? I only need 2 or 3 more. I'm stumped.

Thanks
ARoze
