2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / the handheld singer sewing thing on: September 08, 2006 08:54:33 PM
today i bought the handheld sewing machine by singer. because it was 14 dollars and i was sick of sewing by hand. so i started sewing this frank sinatra shirt i have thats far to big, and i sewed the one side, and i go to the next, and then the sewing thing stops working. i cant get it to stitch regularly. and its really really getting on my nerves.

and im wondering if anybody has one and has had this problem!!!

i've re threaded it a lot and tried diff ways and stuff to sew it and it doesnt come with instructions...  Sad Sad

Smiley my first hoodie that i really did A LOT to.. usually its a few painted on designs and such but this time i went all out. I sewed leopard fabric on the inside of the hood and on the pockets. i hand sewed which means kinda crappy...

i sewed black fabric inside on of the sleeves and ripped the white fabric on the outside.

i used purple spray paint to do the adicts guy face, i used stencil via freezer paper

and then black spray paint and black acrylic paint for the black

and yeah.. i realyl like how it turned out

i love 10 dollar old navy hoodies!!! i have like 5...
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / .make sure that baby likes good music. on: August 31, 2006 07:35:03 AM

so i work at hot topic. hopefully people wont have me for that.

and my manager is pregnent. like really really. like due in october... on halloween actually

and her baby shower is the second.

shes pretty young, early 20's and everything and her and her husband like alright music

well... thats my opinion. since i mostly like punk and well anyway

he has this site that says the music he's been listening to so i picked the bands

the lawrence arms, and the clash, since i like both

and its a joke at work that i make them listen to the adicts cuz thats one of the few bands i like thats on the player so whenever i get the chance i switch the music without them noticing.

so i gotta make sure that lil boy likes good music from the start!
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Stenciling with!!! ...carbon sketch paper??? slightly image heavy on: August 16, 2006 11:23:53 PM
so... i ran out of freezer paper, and so i was looking at my shelf of random crap. and saw my carbon sketch paper. and i was like ...will it work on fabric???

so i put it to the test

i took this stencil i had on that kind of paper, i forget the name. i guess sketch paper?

i took a square of carbson sketch paper and put it on the skirt, then put the stencil paper with the design on top of the carbon sketch paper. and traced the design with a pen so the carbon sketch paper, being careful not to rip the sketch paper though with the pen.

i removed it.. and

it worked! bad pic though... but u can see at the bottom how the lines turned out

so i took my time and used screen printing ink i dont really use to fill in the design carefully with my paint brushes and then ta da...

it turned out better then i thought it would atleast.

and maybe i'll even wear this skirt now...

7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / homemade bleach? on: January 05, 2006 10:08:52 AM
so im supposed to go over to my friends house today to dye her and her sisters hair

im supposed to do mym friend raquels black with green streaks, but the thing with hers is her roots are grown in so its brown and then blonde bottom and stuff, so if i do green streaks it will b dark on top and bright as it goes down and i dont wanna do that

then with her sister she wants a blue streak in her hair, but that would mean bleaching her hair cuz her hairs black.

so i told them and explained i would need bleach, her sister said nevermind on her hair then and then raquel i dunno. basically they dont wanna go out and buy it

and i dont have money to be nice and buy it for them

so is there anyway i can make bleach thats ok for hair?
8  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / vegetarian sloppy joes!!! on: January 03, 2006 04:03:03 PM
im sorry this is pointless but im sooo happy right now cuz since i turned a vegetarian i've been missing quite a few foods, like hot dogs, hamburgers, sloppy joes. just recently my friend was having a burger at my friends house. and i was like *ew face* and she was like its a boca burger, and i had no clue what she was talking about. so she explained that theres no meat, and i practically refure eat fake meat cuz im very picky and refuse to try it. i finally gave in and i ate it. i felt disgusting cuz i felt like i was eating meat but it wasnt meat! but it tasted like it to me.

and right now i just made my mom and me vegetarian sloppy joes!!! made with boca ground beef. it tastes soooo goood i still feel weird cuz it tastes so much like meat to me which makes me not like it but i realize its not meat and i get so happy and eat more. im such a weirdo. but i wanted to share it with you. ecspecially since the sloppy joe sauce is vegan!!!
