Now I know this wasn't a lot of work or anything, but I found an old pair of boys flip flops that happen to fit my daughter so I asked her if she wanted me to make them more girly, and of course she did! this is what I came up with.

19  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Snow princess crown/ image heavy: updated pics 9/30 on: September 23, 2007 09:10:33 AM
well we decided on a costume for my 6 yr old DD, Snow Princess. We were garage sailing yesterday and I came across the coolest old bathrobe and I thought, hmm what could I do with this?? Snow Princess! I knew the idea of any kind of princess would have her putty in my hands lol so anyway this is the beginning of her costume, I'll just add to the thread when I get the actual costume done but I was thrilled with the crown and had to share!!

I used these  snowflake thingys I actually got at another garage sale 2 summers ago, lots of hot glue and crystal beads , craft wire. Wanna hear the best part?? those snowflake things, GLOW IN THE DARK!!  she also helped me with it! my little crafter in training!

as we went along....

the end result/ front

the back...

okay I made some additions because it  just didn't look right to me.  so here it is again...don't mind the dirty girl I made her come in from playing outside so I could take the pic  Grin

20  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Need input of all the experts on here! on: September 22, 2007 05:00:14 PM
I hope this is the right place for this..

I am in the process of making my daughters halloween costume and I need to make the fabric of her costume sparkle, its an old white fur like bathrobe, I want it to be sparkly, but I am afraid anything I put on it, like glue, will make it stiff. Does anyone know of anything I can put or spray on this thing??
input would be most helpful!

oh but, I would like to make the collar stand up any ideas on how to do that??
