61  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Who doesn't play with barbies?!?! on: August 29, 2005 09:34:23 PM
hahah that's awesome. i wish i was a crafty kid, i would have made them clothes. all i ever did was shave all of their heads.

i played with barbies until i was in 6th grade, which was SO UNCOOL so i had to hide them when my friends came over.  Embarrassed ok i'm a loser.

but anyway, those are some great dresses! good luck with the human sized one.
62  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: "growing out bangs" support group on: August 29, 2005 09:17:46 PM
oh please do.  it is freakishly hot and humid here, and my hair is always all sweaty.  eww.  my boyfriend is keeping me in check by threatening to cut his hair if i do.  and then he would look 12 again.

you got it. don't have any pics of the scarf thing, but that one is pretty self explanatory anyway. so here we go. please excuse my 987433 different hair colors/styles....

sideswept is cute, but hot and sticky in the summer (and it makes me break out! Embarrassed)

i also used to pin it to the side with a cute clip (not shown here hah)

the pomp is by far my fave bc it's easy:

and a slicked back fauxhawk-ish thingy if i'm going out:

wow sorry, that was pretty extensive. hope it helps!!!
63  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: "growing out bangs" support group on: August 29, 2005 08:38:34 PM
oh man, i am having the same problem! i'm swearing that i'm going to grow my hair out but i just can't help trimming! my boyfriend threatened to take my hair razor from me so i have to hide it.  Cheesy  but the hair razor is so much fun. sigh...

but anyway!! while i am trying to grow my hair out, i am dealing with the summer heat by either doing the sideswept bangs, pinning it back in a pomp thingy, or wearing cool headbands/scarves. i can post pictures if anyone's interested...
64  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Dumpster-diving swap? on: August 23, 2005 09:31:51 PM
I love crafting but don't want to create more stuff out of other stuff that require energy and resources to be produced, when there is so much great stuff being thrown away!  I make most of my crafts out of repurposed clothing or other items found in dumpsters or thrift stores.  I could blather on about the virtues of dumpster-diving, but instead i'd rather see if anyone else would be interested in this swap.  It could be so much fun!

YES! Dumspters/ thrift stores have made up more than half of my wardrobe haha.
65  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: creative halloween costumes on: August 22, 2005 09:57:14 PM
I just remembered that one year I went to a Halloween shindig at a local club, where a group showed up as the droogs from A Clockwork Orange.  About a half hour later another band o' droogs showed!  They eyed one another and it looked like there was going to be a rumble droog style.  There were only a few smarmy comments about someone wearing thier false eyelashes on the wrong eye.

I've been entertaining myself with visions of dueling Terrence and Phillips farting on each other..............

Oh sad is that!

Oh man, that's great! This Halloween I'm going to be Alex from Clockwork. I can't wait!!  Don't know if I can get some droogs to dress up with me though. All of my friends are pretty independent and like to do their own costumes.  Sad
66  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: How can an iron - on transfer be removed? on: August 21, 2005 03:39:07 PM
I have been seriously contemplating a putting together a 'how to' web page to share my 'knowledge' ever since i came across this thread and saw that there is not a single tutorial for transfers.  sometime this summer hopefully.

Yes please! I have been looking for a tutorial and haven't found one.. maybe b/c it doesn't exist  Undecided

69  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: painted rain boots-help me! on: August 17, 2005 01:49:46 PM
i would also like to know the same thing!

Thanks for asking this, I wanna know too!
My mom fell in love with a pair of polkadotted $150 rainboots, and I wish I could make some for her as a surprise Smiley

like, rubber rain boots? i own a pair of rubber polka dotted rain boots (that i am incidentally trying to paint, which is how i found this post) and i got them for $20 at joyce leslie. i'm guessing you don't have joyce leslie in sweden though.  Undecided
