23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Destroyed Jeans with buttons a la Delia's on: September 22, 2005 12:04:44 PM
those jeans are great - but other people actually pay big $$ for the destroyed look!!
i saw a pair similar to these at nordstroms the other day for $345 - are they on crack!!??!!??

$345?!?! I hope you're joking.
Even if I was the wealthiest woman on earth, any grain of common sense would prevent me from spending that much on a pair of jeans. (As a sidenote, I used to lack any grain of common sense as I did once spend $120 on a pair of express jeans that had some gold Get Up Kids lyrics on them.  Embarrassed )
24  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: my ruby red dorthy shoes on: September 21, 2005 09:06:21 PM
these are awesome! i love glitter in theory but despise getting it all over myself haha.

those look great!! my feet are so small that i can still wear kids sizes so i bought a pair of red glitter shoes when they had them at target for like $12. i love them to death, and after seeing how well it turned out on yours, i think i might try making a pair in emerald green!

emerald green! what a splendid idea! maybe i'll try to end my disgust with glitter and actually try this.

27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wood Bead Necklace w/ nail polish on: September 20, 2005 08:44:00 PM
Made this with some wood beads, thought it was too plain so I accented the colors with some nail polish.

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Destroyed Jeans with Stencil on: September 20, 2005 08:40:29 PM
So I dug this pair of jeans out that I destoyed about a year ago. And wouldn't you know it that these are hot fashion now!! This was one of my first stencils, so it's a bit messy. Don't bite me.  Undecided It's a Banksy recreation, burgundy on top of gold. Added the little heart for balance, I think it's cute.

Comments? Suggestions on how it could be better? Let me know.
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Button Skirt retro style! on: September 20, 2005 08:30:33 PM
I think I have a button obsession! Oh well, here is my mom's old skirt from the 80s that I embellished with some buttons. It's almost too loud to wear in public but I have no shame so I'll wear it anyway  Tongue

my favorite button is the red one:

Comments? Suggestions on how to make it better?
30  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: pat benatar tote bag!!! - first post on: September 20, 2005 07:09:52 PM
omg, I love it, your bag is soo cute.  I love how you made it so retro 80's looking too.  I've been wanting to sentcil something with pat benatar for awhile but never got a round to it, now i'm totally pumped to make one.  Your bag came out soo great,  I doubt my stencil would come out as sweet, with my cutting abilities.

Thanks! I love the whole cheesy 80s retro look, I'm so excited to finally have an every day item in that style. If you happen to make something similar, I'd love to see pics!

I love that.
The buttons are a nice touch.

Thank you! I'm afraid I have a bit of a button obsession. Undecided
