21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pirate Swap? (round...2?) on: September 02, 2007 08:27:43 PM
Have we done a pure pirates swap? I remember the pirates/ninjas one...

I LOVE pirates. Real and fictional. I think we could get a lot of awesome stuff from a pirates swap, and I know someone else out there MUST like pirates as much as I do.

Unfortunately, I can't organize yet, I think. (my first swap is just ending.) I'm willing to wait to start sign-ups until I'm done with another swap, but I just wanted to get the idea out there, in case someone else was willing to help get this thing of the ground.

Anyone interested?
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Friends. on: August 24, 2007 07:09:45 AM
I was looking though qoutes on websites and things, and I found this quote, and I immediately thought of the friendship of House and Wilson on the FOX TV show, House, MD.

I realize the pictures are pretty bad...I won't have access to a scanner until this weekend, but I really wanted to enter these. If it's possible, I'll upload scans tomorrow or Sunday.

The quote is, "Prosperity makes friends, adversity tries them."-Publilius Syrus.
23  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / More doodle, less art: chibi peoples. on: August 21, 2007 04:32:11 PM
This is just a little fan-art thing I did of the House, MD (FOX) cast.

It was for my LJ friend's birthday, so they're chibi-fied and hanging out on her birthday cake.

Disclaimer: I don't own the cast of House, I just like to make them cute.

Because I know everyone doesn't watch House, left to right: Top- Lisa Cuddy, James Wilson, Greg House; Bottom- Robert Chase, Allison Cameron, and Eric Foreman.
24  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / A-Z Animals Draw-along on: August 17, 2007 11:20:09 AM
I'm going to start off by thanking WitchCatXeen for inspiration...I never thought of having a draw-along...

Anyway! The idea of this is simple: draw one animal beginning with each letter of the alphabet. So, A could be...armadillo, b could be bear, c could be cat, and so on. (Feel free to be WAY more creative than that.  Cheesy)

Your drawings can be any style you want, colored on the computer, with crayons, paint, or not colored at all. All you have to do is draw 26 animals, each beginning with a different letter, and post 'em here!

Who's up for it?
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Shirt for a stuffed sheep? on: August 10, 2007 01:22:41 PM
My little sister has this stuffed sheep that she carries EVERYWHERE. Yesterday, my step mom made an outfit for another doll, and my little sister decided she wanted an outfit for her sheep, too. My step-mom asked me if maybe I could knit something, and I said I would try to find something. I'm thinking just a sort of tube-top with holes for the sheep's front legs?

I'm a really new knitter, so I'm not sure if I'm up to free-forming it. I've never done anything with holes bigger than ones created by yarn overs.

Anyone have any ideas?
26  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Very...Second Stuffie! on: August 10, 2007 08:56:23 AM
Haha. The first one was for a swap http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb53/thebakersgirl_photos/. Don't look Digitallasanga!

Anyway. I made this yesterday while my step-mom used the sewing machine. I used the pattern from The Cute Book. (I'm soooo happy I got that. My mom found it on the discount table at Barnes and Noble! She didn't even know that I had been pining for it for so long!)

Face Detail:

My little bunny doesn't have a name yet. Any suggestions?
She now has a name! Miku! Thanks for all the suggestions, guys!

27  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First finished object: pocket purse/iPod cozy on: July 21, 2007 06:18:00 PM
This is the first thing I've ever actually finished, I'm so proud! It's basically just a little pocket with a triangle flap and a button closure. It's the perfect size for my iPod mini, but would be useful as a cell phone case or a place to put little things.

It's done in stockinette at first, then switched to garter for long enough to fold in half at the change in stitches. Then I just did the flap with the button hole, sewed on the button, sewed up the sides, flipped it right side out, and stuck my iPod inside!

It took about a day, but it was my first and I'm a slow knitter.

28  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My wand! [pic heavy] on: July 21, 2007 06:10:44 PM
I got the basic idea from here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=181912.0
and ran with it. This was my first project with clay. I did it with Sculpey. It's molded around a piece of tinfoil, baked, and painted with acrylics.
The whole thing, unpainted:

It took about two hours to sculpt (and I was distracted), and about another hour to bake/paint.
I considered painting the detail gold, but chose against it.

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Show Off Your Outfits!!! on: June 20, 2007 09:18:42 PM
Well, we have one for hair, shoes, tattoos...Why not outfits?  Grin

So. Does anyone else ever put together an outfit and walk out the door feeling like the cutest thing on the planet and wishing you could show off your awesome fashion sense to everyone? I know I do! So, here's a place to post pictures of some of your favorite outfits! They don't have to be made by you, either...

Unfortunately, my camera's not working at the moment. My sister is coming over tomorrow, though, and the outfit that I want to post is the one I'll be wearing while she's here. Hopefully I can convince her to take pics so I can post them. In the meantime, start showing off, people!
30  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / little orange fishie. [EDIT] Pictures! on: December 28, 2005 01:34:30 PM
This is my first post on Craftster. I actually started this thread...a long time ago. But! I finally got the pictures to work.

It's just a little fish I made awhile ago, out of orange and bits of blue Sculpey.

Front Veiw. Sorry about the picture quality, I tried. Tongue
