11  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / some charms and keychains... on: May 25, 2009 03:17:53 PM
So, I've done some polymer clay stuff before, but never this small or complicated. The only things I've made before were two wands, one for me and one for a swap, and a radish pendant, also for a swap. Smiley
But I've been practicing, because I love clay, so here's what I baked today!
First off is a Nine Inch Nails logo keychain for my Trent-worshipping boyfriend:

And second is a tentacle charm. I was just messing around with some old white clay, so this one will have to be painted. I'm going to put it on a necklace to profess my love for squid. Smiley

I also made a really cute candy/truffle charm, but I can't find the picture. Sad
When I find it, I'll add it to this post. I'm really proud of it.
Thanks for looking! Cheesy

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / My Very Own 52 Reasons Book. :D on: February 16, 2009 02:21:34 PM
Haha, yeah, I did it, too! Cheesy

That last one says, "You buy me Reese's!" by the way. Cheesy
He loved ittt. He said it was amazing and heartfelt and funny and that it was the best Valentine's day gift he'd ever gotten! Cheesy

Oh, here's a bonus, because I don't want to post a whole thread for this one (not so good) picture:

I also made him these peanut butter cookies (his favorite). It was my first time baking anything from scratch! They apparently turned out awesomely, considering that he ate all but one of the 17 cookies in one night. (I did manage to snag one. Cheesy)
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Trent Reznor stencil...need your opinion. :) on: January 26, 2009 02:25:37 PM
Okay, so. My soon-to-boyfriend (previously my best friend) is turning 17 at the end of February, and I wanted to do something awesome for his birthday. He's absolutely obsessed with NIN, but he says he has all the band shirts already. I was looking at pictures of Trent (getting ideas for another present I'm planning on) and found one that I thought might do well as a stencil. One Instructable later, I had this:

It's not perfect, but do you think it looks good enough? Recognizable, and all.
And does he look weird without a nose? Hehe.
Thank you so much for helping!
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Choo-choo Trains. :D on: November 30, 2008 08:06:29 PM
Hehe. Tongue
This is the first set of jewelry that I made all by myself. The design isn't mine, my sister made the same necklace first, although hers has airplanes instead of trains. (I liked the trains more. Cheesy) Nevertheless, I'm super proud of this. It took me a couple hours, and consists of plastic beads, black and white pearly beads, and lots of chain, plus head pins, wire, jump rings, and a clasp. Cheesy
Here's the only pic I have at the moment, taken in Photobooth. Cheesy

15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Homecoming! Garter and teeshirts. :D on: October 16, 2008 02:57:19 PM
Our homecoming is tomorrow, so I just wanted to post some stuff I made for it. Cheesy

First, the garter for my boyfriend. I made it with a little help from my stepmom. Cheesy

And my shirt! This is the back. Nothing's going on the front, since my mum will cover it, anyway. Tongue I'm going to put mine and my boyfriend's names on the sleeve later, when the back is more dry. I'm making a matching one for him, too. No pics yet, but I'll add them later. Cheesy

It's about an inch and a fourth off center...pisses me off. D:
How noticeable is it?

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Tomato! on: August 05, 2008 09:12:13 PM
He's a puppy! I made him for my boyfriend's birthday (my boyfriend who hates tomatoes, ironically). He's based on one of a series of characters I've been designing to make into plushies. They're all named after various fruits and vegetables. This one's name is Tomato, obviously; he's my boy's favorite of the series so far.
He asked for a full sized pillow of the puppy, but I didn't have enough felt for that yet. It just so happened that his birthday presents haven't been ordered yet, even though his birthday was yesterday (eep!), so I whipped this up as an extra till they got here!

I say "whipped". It really took about...4-5 hours. He's all felt (in three different browns), hand-sewn with brown and black embroidery floss and buttons for eyes.

Here are the pics!

fronttt. Cheesy

And backkk! With pocket, for superly-secret items, as shown by the note I lovingly slipped in there. Cheesy

He loved it! So I feel better about not having his real gift yet. Cheesy
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Apple hair clip :D on: July 23, 2008 10:12:39 AM
I just whipped this up in about an hour or so. I've gotten a lotttt of stuff with apples lately (a bunch of school supplies! Woot!) including a watch, and I also got my hair cut on Monday into a much cuter style than I use to have, so I decided that I had to have an apple shaped hair clip. Cheesy

It's just felt and an olddd hair clip I found.

It was my first time with the blanket stitch...My first few stitches were strange, but the leaf covered them up. Cheesy

Here's the watch it matches:

I plan on making more little hair stuff. Bows and such. Cheesy

18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Marauder-Era Swap? on: January 18, 2008 03:42:47 PM
Yeah, I'm talking Marauders as in Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs.

I did a Harry Potter swap a while ago and my partner and I ended up pretty much swapping all-MWPP-related stuff. I know they're my favorites, but would anyone else be interested in a swap for them?

It doesn't have to be just the four of them, though. It could be more of a Marauder-era swap, with Lily and Snape, too, and anyone else who was around thier age that I can't remember at the moment...
19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Good Omens Swap? on: January 11, 2008 07:04:36 PM
Good Omens is, of course, the amazingly awesome book co-authored by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I know there was talk of an all-things-Gaiman swap a few pages back, but...See, GO is the only of his books I've gotten to yet, so I was hoping that maybe I could get a few people who wanted to do a pure Good Omens swap? I'm pretty sure I could organize, if anyone's interested.

It wouldn't have to be a big group, even.  Grin
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / So. Slightly Stupid Question About Fabric Paints... on: October 26, 2007 08:04:01 PM
Yes. I have a tote bag (store-bought; one from Micheal's, that you can decorate), and it says that no pre-washing is needed before decorating. The fabric paints I have, however, say that you should wash the fabric before using them.

So. To pre-wash or not to pre-wash, that is the question.
