1  COOKING / Dessert / chocolate peppermint cupcakes on: March 01, 2008 02:29:10 PM
From the book cupcakes! by Elinor Klivans (I love that book).

These cupcakes were a big hit both times I have made them - they fall apart a little easily though.  I used candy canes for these, last time I used crushed peppermint candies.  I like the way the candy canes look better - and it's easier than trying to crush peppermint candies  Tongue

2  COOKING / Dessert / Re: poinsettia cheesecake on: January 22, 2008 02:00:50 PM
thanks for the comments!  my mom also said it was too pretty to cut into...but I think it's too yummy not to cut into it  Tongue

I spooned on the colored filling to make the flower, but next time I'm going to try using a piping bag - I think it might make it easier and keep the lines cleaner.

It really wasn't that hard to do, and it didn't take very long!

I made this cheesecake for my mom to take to work  Grin  It was inspired by the rainbow cheesecake technique.

4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: orange-cranberry cupcakes on: January 18, 2008 11:15:15 AM
I thought about the food processor, but we don't have one.  I might have to invest in one...

I'm not sure if I can post the recipe since I didn't make it up, it's from a book called cupcakes! by Elinor Klivans, it's a great book, I definitely recommend it!
5  COOKING / Dessert / orange-cranberry cupcakes on: January 17, 2008 01:42:29 PM
These are the orange-glazed cranberry spice tea cakes from the book cupcakes! by Elinor Klivans.  They are really good...the only annoying part is chopping up all the cranberries.

6  COOKING / Dessert / thanksgiving cupcakes on: January 04, 2008 09:17:10 PM
I'm posting these a little late...but these are the cupcakes I made for Thanksgiving!

the spiderwebby looking ones are Spiderweb Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes, and the others are Cinnamon Sugar Puff Cupcakes.  Both recipes are from the book cupcakes! by Elinor Klivans.

It was a lot of fun to make, although I did have to restart about 3 or 4 times...
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / button phone charm :D on: September 17, 2007 04:35:39 PM
I just lost my monkey phone charm today Sad  and I'm already missing it.  I couldn't bear to let my phone go around naked any longer, so I made one from some buttons I used for a bracelet a long time ago!  It was super easy to make, the entire thing probably took less than 2 minutes.

happy phone!

action shot...yay!
