11  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby quilt with embroidery and taggies semi pic heavy on: October 02, 2007 03:08:12 PM
It's just a simple block quilt with taggies. I made on for my cousin and my mother promptly decided she needed one for my little brother too. I embroidered his name and some tropical themes on some of the blocks cause we live on an island. The back is flannel and the blocks are made of all different kinds of fabric(fleece, terry cloth, some silky fabrics and some cottons). Its meant to be more of a play mat than a blanket but it works as both.

The quilt

the back flannel fabric

12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / I have a thing for trees... on: February 13, 2007 10:20:51 AM
i made these last night when i couldnt sleep. theyre not as heavy as one might think as they are made from wire-y stuff i got at Micheals. they are however a tad delicate...
13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Classes I take ATC on: December 03, 2006 07:45:39 PM
ok so this idea came to me today while i was fidgeting about waiting for the ongoing atc swap to open tonight...

the idea is to make a card for each class your in...i have five classes right now so i would make a card for:

abnormal psychology
child psychology
american sign language
new testiment
and sociology

imagine all the cool cards! i think this would be a really cool swap...i could organize but not until febuary probably

this would also be cool for teachers...anyone who has ever been to a school really(high school, college, homeschool whatever)...you wouldnt have to make 5 different card you could take one class and make 5 cards based on that class or something.
14  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Maryland Flag ATC on: November 18, 2006 08:44:03 AM

The maryland flag with a "blackeyed susan"...i couldnt find a black brad so i just used the closest thing...the flag it out together using  seperately cut out pieces of paper...i think its turned out pretty cool...
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Lots of fun stuff i made for my moms cottages on: July 20, 2006 06:20:43 PM
my mom owns some cottages that she rents during the summer on the island of chincoteague in VA. when she first bought them they were in terrible shape and she spent a couple months fixing them up. these are projects i made for the rental cottages to make them feel more homey and fun!

First...the quilt i made out of wash clothes and towels. its really cool and i love how it turned out.

Next...a melted bead sun catcher-y type thing inspired by the one in the featured items.

curtain for the cabinets because my mother had to remove the doors. i made them out of a table cloth and i also made a valence but the picture of that didnt turn out well.

next..we bought this chair and repainted it brown its a cute little rocker type chair. i made the cushion covers out of towels.

i made several pillow covers out of towels also to go with the quilt and the chair. this is one of them.

and thats about it. i'm starting projects for the other cottage but the colors arent as fun(sage green, light blue and tan). the projects will be quite similar though. they're meant to be "beachy" without being tacky. the island is a beach community which is quite nice in the summer. hope you like them!

list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap: This swap was semi-inspired by the fill a coin purse swap. but this is bigger and better and more fun. The object of the swap is to make a purse and fill it with goodies. Due to the fact that not everyone caries a "purse" bags may be any size(messenger, hobo, or a hand bag, whatever you want to make!). But to keep things even so some people dont go crazy and send a huge package and recieve a tiny handbag in return there is a $30 spending limit on what you put INSIDE the bag. this cost does not incluse the bag itself. I will do my best to pair people up with someone who wants a similar bag (messenger bags with messenger bags etc). DC#'s are required of everyone sending within their own country! I will note in your feedback if you fail to provide this.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
What kind of bag can you make?
What kind of bag would you like to recieve? What do you look for in a good bag?
What colors do you love/hate?
Give a brief discription of your likes/dislikes(what kind of crafting you do, what tv shows you like, what you do in your spare time etc) because your partner needs to "know" enough about you to fill your purse!:

This is my first time organizing and this should be a really fun swap! i made sign ups long so newbies who see this havea chance to get ready for swapping and i put send outs in Augest because this is an involved swap and it will take some thought and preperation. if you have any questions pm me!

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.
