So sad about Jake's leg! He is still super-cute though. Those are some awesome Fimo skills.

dfabbric also has some awesome applique skills because look what I received from her this week!

This Ice King cupcake was originally some artwork of a bunch of Adventure Time characters as cupcakes that was on my Pinterest. Now he is felt-ified!

I love it so much! Thank you, dfabbric!

Thanks for the compliments on my hoop and LSP bag, folks Smiley

I received my package from our fearless organizer, haroldlovesmaude!

I unrolled this canvas from out of its shipping tube and it just kept unrolling and unrolling... it's huge!! Check out her amazing painting skills, now proudly displayed in my dining room.

I wish I had some good close up shots, but I didn't get home till late tonight and it's dark, so none of my photos turned out quite right. Maybe I will try tomorrow if it's sunny... you should really see the tiny Finn lounging on Jake's back.

She also sent this adorable Beemo zipper pouch! I love him! So cute!

Thank you so much for the awesome stuff, and for hosting such a great swap. Smiley

I received my hoop from LauraLynn125... I had listed one of my favorite villains as the weeping angels, so she made this combination appliqu/embroidery of them surrounding the TARDIS:

Thank you so much--I love it! Smiley

So much cool stuff already! I received my OTT today from marleymiss. She chose my full moon theme and made this incredible embroidery:

I absolutely love it! The stitching is beautiful and the design is perfect! Here's a close-up...

Thank you so much! As you can see, I hung it up right away Cheesy

I received my package from dooney yesterday! Here are some photos of everything...

First a group shot... she sent me a hand carved Discworld stamp stamp and an amigurumi Nac Mac Feegle. I can barely understand his accent, so I'm not sure of his name, but he brought with him quite the hoarde of gold coins...

I really love his bushy eyebrows and the stern look on his face.

And here is the stamp stamp in action so you can see all the brilliant detail!

The Feegle has settled amongst some other swap items and vinyl toys in our living room, but DoR appears to make him a bit nervous, so I'm not sure if he'll settle there permanently or not.

Thanks dooney for a truly wonderful swap package! I am going to get some nice paper and see if I can pull a good print of the stamp that is suitable for framing Smiley

7  Big Lebowski Cross Stitch - The Dude Abides in Needlework: Completed Projects by millik on: February 04, 2010 12:58:33 PM
I know this little proverb has been stitched before, but here's my sort of "make it up as you go along" version. This was made as a birthday gift for my little sis. I picked an alphabet I liked from a thrifted cross stitch book and embellished with some random shapes. The letters happened to fit across in this frame that I had, so I made the rest of the design to fit, as well. It has a blackwork-esque feel, although technically I don't think it's blackwork because stuff isn't connected or anything, so there are a few jumps on the back and the top and bottom borders are strictly cross stitch.

And here are a couple of pics after I had washed and ironed it:

Oh hooray! I'm so glad you liked everything. This was a really fun swap to craft for. Who just happens to be thinking about cyclops kitty? Heh.

I also received my package today from boymeetscraft. It is all so awesome, I don't know where to begin. Seriously, I was overjoyed when I got home and opened the box. Smiley Please excuse the crappy photographs--it was already dark when I got home from work tonight.

Here's a photo of everything together:

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was this little stuffy of Suspenders from Patches. It's all hand sewn and generally amazing. The outfit is incredible and I'm in awe of your ability to just wing something like this. I love him!

Then I unveiled a sweetly wrapped package of Diesel Sweeties marble magnets:

They are now on the fridge. Smiley There was also a super cute bento box style container, and the crowning jewel of the swap box... an "Original" Puke Plates newspaper ad from Married to the Sea. You must have scoured e-bay and paid a fortune for this little gem! I thought they were all destroyed in the Puke Plates Warehouse Fire of 1812! Wink

I about died laughing when I saw this and I can't wait to hang it up on the wall--absolutely amazing!

9  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R7 FOCR R7 (Signups CLOSED Sendout 11/20) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by millik on: November 14, 2009 02:34:06 PM
Everything looks great so far! Here's my offering for the swap.

I stitched up the animals from some doodles I had drawn in my notebook and was going to make them individual ornaments but they looked so cute together in a row that I decided they should stay together.

10  Nightmare Before Christmas Ornament in Needlework: Completed Projects by millik on: November 09, 2009 12:37:26 PM
I made this for cupcakeguru in the latest OTT swap. I found the image online and thought how fun it would be to stitch all those sketchy lines around the yellow moon. I modified the image slightly, simplifying his arm, cause the skeleton hand seemed a bit too detailed for something that's only 3"x3".

I didn't have any yellow cotton fabric, so I took some white cotton & colored it in with a yellow fabric marker, then heat set it with the iron.

I ironed stitch witchery on the back, cut out a circle, machine appliqued it onto black fabric using glow in the dark thread... then I traced on the main image.

The sketchy stitchings around the edge were randomly freehanded with one strand of floss. I ended up also hand appliqueing on the head because I thought it would look cleaner than embroidering it.

Here's a picture before I sewed it into the ornament:

And one of me holding it for scale:
