Tuesday Grace is ready to go!  She keeps begging me to pack her up, but I'll wait til we get closer to partners.

She's just so anxious to get going, she's such a little gypsy  Smiley

12  Shut the front door! My QR code cross stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by hockamama on: June 05, 2011 02:18:34 PM
I love cross stitch, but I've got a very short attention span/interest level.  So small projects make me very happy.  I found this design on Subversive Cross Stitch and fell in love!

For those of y'all without a barcode scanner, it says 'shut the &#%@ up'

I can't decide if I want to put it on my wall, or make a patch out of it and put on my bookbag.  Maybe I'll make another, to remove the decision dilemma.

Scraps, scraps, everywhere scrap scraps!  Ticker tape and bottled rainbow quilts are all the rage right now, but most of us dont have enough of the right scraps on hand. Or maybe you like small bits of fabric for embellishments or accessories.  Although Im not a stranger to buying LOADS of 1/8 yard bits, wouldnt it be nice to swap with another craftster?  Whatever you need scraps for, this is the swap for you.

We all have scraps left over from projects, too good to throw away, but too small/wrong color/etc to use for ourselves.  So why not pass them on to someone who would love them, all the while getting your own new loveys?

I will do my best to match people up according to what they have to offer and what they would like to receive.

Here are the guidelines:
1. You will be using either a large envelope (10x13) or the 9 X 12 flat-rate $4.95  USPS (or comparable) envelope.
2. You can include as much fabric as you can fit in that receptacle, as long as each piece is at least 2x2 (if you want a bigger size, you can ask your partner, and as long as you both agree and let me-hockamama-know, it is all good)
3. We will only have 1 week after partners are assigned to mail, since there is no crafting involved. If that is a problem, please let your partner and myself know IMMEDIATELY.
4. HAVE FUN!!!!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?
Confirm that you are at least 16 years old or, if not, that you have moderator approval(YES/NO)

What type/kind of scraps do you have to offer? (IE cotton, polyester, knit....novelty prints, rainbow, earth tones, patterns, etc.

What type/kind of scraps would you like to receive?
What type of project are you working on?

Do you have allergies that your partner needs to know about?
Do you have allergens in your home that the organizer needs to know in order to select partners?

Anything else you feel you need to mention?

Also remember to read the https://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html  to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

the whole bunch

pieces of cold press soap; I've never had hand made soap before, I'm excited to try it!!

yummy chocolate and coffee

Cranberry cider jelly, it smells divine  Grin

a bag with saying from my wist, love this!

a hand stamped anniversary necklace.  She messaged my hubs on facebook to find out our anniversary date.  When he got home, I gave him a hard time about talking to other women on fb.  He said at first it was difficult to keep the secret, but as time went on, he forgot, which made it immensely easier.  I reckon age has it's advantages, yes?  Wink

Okay, y'all, I have to say thank you so much for being such a wonderful group of people!  I dropped out of this swap when mama was hospitalized, knowing that I wouldn't have time to finish it.  I've never backed out of a swap before, and it hurt to do so.  But then she passed away, and there's no way I would have been able to finish the swap.

However, even though I dropped out after the first round, I have still received from round 2 and round 3!  And the notes that came with both packages are so touching.  Yesterday, I received from KriSmith, and when I read the note, I cried.  My 13 year old was hovering (as he always does when I get a package, nosy little thing) He knows I dropped out and that I got 2 extra packages, and he said, 'mama, that sure is a nice person who sent you that, all those people on that site seem to gather around each other and give sympathy and protection when it's needed.'  Ah, the insight of that kid!  But he's so right, I've seen it many times over the years, we do comfort each other, over and over again.  I'm so blessed to belong to such a wonderful group of people, thank you all!  Kiss

And now, for the pics:

I want to jump into the picture ala Blues Clues, and see who is on the other side of that door  Smiley

This pendant is gorgeous! And so very appropriate for this situation, yes?

Thank you again, KriSmith, for such a fantastic package, and the heart touching note.  Thank you, thank you.

16  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box R3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by hockamama on: April 18, 2011 09:18:58 AM
I received a great package from Southern Flower the other day.  It's been kinda chaotic around here the last couple of weeks, with mama passing.  I didn't realize that I hadn't received from my second partner until I got on here to read the thread.  I hadn't been on in almost 2 weeks, so I thought I better drop in.  Then I found a pm from Southern Flower that she had sent.

The whole package: zippers, gorgeous floss, some aida, tags, plastic coins, and little bits for eye spy pillows.

the little button things for the pillows

aren't they beautiful?

Thank you again, Southern Flower!  It was a great package, and a nice bright spot in my day  Smiley

17  Re: Little Visitor 13 gallery Sendouts: Wednesday March 30 in The Swap Gallery by hockamama on: April 13, 2011 05:39:49 PM
I received today from Bexster.  Tuesday Grace came home with a new friend, and lots of other goodies.  After the Hell of the last couple of weeks, it was so nice to come home to such a great package.

the whole shebang

Tuesday Grace with her new friend, ID holder, flower ring, a gorgeous tudor rose cross stitch, the key chain says, "Where there is tea, there is hope", a bit of fabric and a button like is on the ID holder, and some yummy candy.  Notice the corner of the licorice bag has been torn away...my 13 year old would be the culprit.

An envelope for Chinese New Year with a coin inside for luck, a piece of rock from the wall of Peveril Castle, some post cards and leaflets from her area, a BUTT load of pictures, and the most awesome scrapbook ever.

I can't tell you how much this package meant to me, Bexster, thank you so much!!

I received a nice package from aheartofglass this week.  I had to drop out of this swap when my mama was put in the hospital 2 weeks ago.  She passed away last week, and I've been pretty disconnected since.  I was surprised to still received, but it was such a nice surprise.

This candle smelled so good, but I can't tell you what scent it was, because my daughter took off with it!  The little butterfly pushpins are adorable, and the pendant is gorgeous.

How appropriate that aheartofglass sent me a heart of glass Smiley

Thank you, aheartofglass, it was a nice spot of brightness in my day.

Make sure they have been compressed, if they are over 2mb they won't load up on here.

Well, aren't you smart!  I've never paid attention to the size, and 2 of them were bigger than 2 mb.  I'm not sure how to compress them, so I just won't post them, but they're the close-ups, so y'all will have to use your imaginations Cheesy

Weedo checking out mama's exciting package

inspecting the bag with all the tiny treasures.  There are so many, and they're perfect!!

He's decided that he'll let me keep all of it, instead of thieving some for himself.

And, just for fun, here's Weedo wearing the hoop that Nikolelily sent.

It took him a little while, but he managed to get it down around his middle section.  I'm not sure why he didn't just back his neck out of it instead of putting his arms through it, but I took pity on him and removed it.  After we had some laughs, of course.
