1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / need to stencil/ etch pint glasses- I'm lost, advice please! on: May 23, 2007 09:18:25 AM
Hello! I courageously? stupidly? cluelessly? volunteered to make a few pint glasses for a Roller Derby awards ceremony on June 2. I need to get  this logo (below, on my flickr) or something similar to it on to the glass, I've had no luck stenciling so far, I tried taping it inside the glass and tracing it with a paint pen and it looks a little too, uh, homemade. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I realize that lack of planning on my part doesn't constitute an emergency on yours, but I figured it was worth a shot!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / opinions on morbid pillowcase please on: September 30, 2005 09:26:18 PM
I like this... but I'm curious to hear what others think of it. I digitized the design and embroidered it on my machine, I made the pillowcase as well (woo woo, right?  Tongue)

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Punk Rock tattoo flash toddler hoodie- opinions welcomed! on: February 02, 2005 10:58:51 AM

I drew up the bird and digitized it, then stitched it out on my embroidery machine. I'm very happy with it, I made one for my daughter and I put one up on ebay just to see if anyone else thinks they are cool! I'd love feedback- the last picture is my business
logo, "Young Ones Creations". Thanks for looking
4  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / stained glass people on: June 10, 2004 10:57:11 AM
Hey there, Mike (my partner) is a talented artist and he wants to try his hand at stained glass.... there is no place locally to buy the supplies and we found a site online that seems reasonable... all except the $300 saw... I guess I'd like to hear the voice of experience tell me what sorts of tools he needs to get into the craft and enjoy it, but won't cost the same as a small car should he decide it's not for him--
thanks for ANY info!!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Need help revamping 50's chrome table/ chairs-- on: June 07, 2004 10:17:35 AM
Hi there- I've lurked here for a while now, but I'm truly stumped in my latest undertaking and I'm hoping someone has a terrific idea to help me out! I've been redoing a bunch  50s/ 60s chrome table and chair sets and I've got the sewing and fitting of the vinyl down, the cleaning and touching up of the chrome down but I need an idea for how to re-do the tops! i've thought about decoupaging boomerang or other atomic patterned paper to the top, then coating it, but I can't find the paper. the actual boomerang laminate is too expensive for my tastes and I *know* there has to be a way to DIY (or DIM- do it myself? heh?) any ideas?

specifically- I am trying to recover the worn and faded plastic tops on these old tables. I'd like to find 1. a source for big sheets of retro patterned paper 2. a way to make my own big sheets of cool paper 3. a way to make my own plastic laminate in aforementioned patterns 4. any ideas you may have about what I can do to solve this problem-
