1  It's True in Needlework: Completed Projects by JessiokaFroka on: June 18, 2011 12:41:25 PM
I made the following custom for my cousin. I've been on a cross stitch kick lately.

I used the Cross Stitch Pattern Maker at StitchPoint.Com http://www.stitchpoint.com/eng/tool/alph/cross-stitch-writing-tool.php

2  My Craft Room (Super Pic Obese) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by JessiokaFroka on: June 07, 2011 02:23:32 PM
I finally got around to posting photos of my craft room. I had intended to paint the room, but after I got everything put up to see what color I'd like to paint it I decided to keep it white (especially since we're moving in about a year and I think buyers would prefer a blank slate anyway.)

When I put this together I was an avid scrapbooker and was getting into Gallery Glass (hence the mermaid window, which is paint and not actually stained glass). As you can see I am a big fan of Sailor Moon, mermaids, fairies, and of course, Captain Jack. My nickname in my family is "Froka" which is what those wall letters mean.

TUTORIAL for the wall letters: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=213298.0

My baby sister's early work. I love her art to death and I need to get some of her newer pieces in (as her skills have massively improved since she became a teenager.)

My favorite thing ever my little sister has ever made. I think I like it so much because it's creepy and cheerful at the same time.

And finally, my beloved mermaid window:

3  Chocolate Cake Toy/Pincushion in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by JessiokaFroka on: June 05, 2011 11:44:38 AM
I'm learning how to sew and I'm making a bunch of felt food for my little nephew. I figure by the time he's old enough to want to play with felt food I will have made him (and his baby sister who's on the way) enough to have a variety.

As Schnerby pointed out in my last felt food post (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=382175.msg4522782#msg4522782), the pattern for this cake can be found in "Softies: Simple Instructions for 25 Plush Pals" by Therese Laskey. http://www.amazon.com/Softies-Simple-Instructions-Plush-Pals/dp/0811856526#_

It's done! I got the dimensions right this time!

I was very happy with how the seam came out, especially because the frosting drips line up perfectly. This, I assure you, was completely unintentional (but I'll take it!)

I'm considering using this as my main pincushion. I think I'll add a strawberry, cream dollop, and maybe a chocolate wafer to the top first though.

4  Assorted Felt Yummies (image heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by JessiokaFroka on: June 04, 2011 04:42:48 PM
I am just learning how to sew and these are my first few projects. It's pretty darn easy and I'm learning something new with each bit 'o' tasty Smiley

Angel food cake with strawberry frosting, a strawberry and a frosting poof(?) on top. Tutorial at Lola Says What (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoYEtOXhqQY&feature=related)

Two little dudes who are supposed to be cupcakes, but my family members keep thinking they're either soft serve or rice balls. Pattern and instructions at https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=275367.0

A sprinkled chocolate donut with vanilla icing. Again, Lola Says What has the tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vISumiEKtf8&feature=mh_lolz&list=PL902B50773FA3730A

Some breakfasty foods. Tutorial for the egg by Lilly Bean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0qNp2GPIJM&list=PL902B50773FA3730A

And a radioactive donut, because why the hell not.

I saw your cupcakes and just *had* to make some! Smiley I am a beginner (very, VERY beginner) but I think I know what to do next time I make some of these little guys as far as my technique goes.

6  Re: Jessica's May 2010 Medieval-Themed Wedding Stuff in Weddings and Bridal Showers by JessiokaFroka on: June 21, 2009 07:31:46 PM
The Cake Toppers:

I got these in Vegas at FAO Schwartz for $6.50 apiece. They look better in real life, but these are the photos I got off the Papo Toys website:

Hahaha the knight is actually shorter than the maiden, but maybe I'll pimp his shoes with some super-soles (i.e. a polymer clay stand) so he can be taller.

The Dress:

These are different angles of the dress FMIL will be making for me. I want the bodice to be an ice blue or powder blue, the sheer to be a shade of blue, and the skirt to be white:

I think I will have flowers in my hair; no veil or tiara for me. I will have simple, flat, COMFY shoes, and not a whole helluva lotta makeup.

The invitations are ALMOST done - I still need to make the reply card envelopes, but that won't take too long. I will post more photos when the whole shebang is up. I used sweets4ever's wedding invitation tutorial located here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=184958.0 to make my invites.

8  Jessica's May 2010 Medieval-Themed Wedding **Invitation Photos up 01/17/10** in Weddings and Bridal Showers by JessiokaFroka on: June 21, 2009 07:04:26 PM
Hey there everyone, this thread will be repository of my wedding stuff. I've changed my mind about what/how/where/when I'm doing my wedding sooooo many times, and I've FINALLY decided on all the major things (venue, reception venue, honeymoon, theme) and have deposits down.

Now, for the obligatory list of things I, FH, or family need to make, craft, arrange, finagle, swing, etc. etc. etc...

1. The dress - FMIL (the dear) is very generously making this for me (Here is a photo for the teaser... MORE PHOTOS IN POST #2):

2. FH's outfit - FMIL and FFIL are making this for FH. FH's dad does leatherworking and will be making quite a few black leather pieces to go with his outfit.
3. Etched drinking glasses for FH and myself.
4. The flowers - All flowers will be done by me. My flowers will all be silk, and the flowers pictured below are what I have so far. The price I paid is under my own bouquet budget, on top of that I scored some flowers for my bridesmaids, too!
TOTAL COST: $45.19 (Thank God for Joann's clearances! Full price would have been $131 and change)

This is my tentative bouquet. It's not wrapped and is still a work in progress.

Me being a dork.
5. Ceremony aisle decor - Ribbons? Flowers? Not sure about this one yet.
6. The guestbook - I ended up buying this - Photos are later in this post.
7. General reception area decorations - I'm thinking of hanging butterflies or fairies, as this will be an early-evening reception with lots and lots of twinkling lights.
8. Invitations - Almost done! Photos in next post
9. Programs

10. Seating Chart
11. Menu cards
12. Seating cards
13. Write our vows - I write mine, he writes his :p
14. Favors - I have decided to do wedding favors - we're having a candy buffet Smiley

I will also include some of the wedding stuff I've bought. I know it's not crafty at all, but I think it definitely helps to see the whole picture.

Cake Toppers:
We bought these for $4 apiece at FAO Schwartz in Vegas. Love 'em!

Wedding Guestbook
I bought this *awesome* guestbook for about $50 (including shipping) at The Guestbook Store, website is here: http://www.guestbookstore.com/wedding.html - I probably could have made it, but dang, they did such a great job!

The Guestbook itself

The front page that guests will fill out, it includes spaces for the guest's name, a portrait of the bride and groom drawn by the guest, where the guest is from and how far they traveled, how do you know the bride and groom, and the guest's wishes for us.

The back page that guests will fill out, it includes advice for the newlyweds, a self portrait of the guest, predictions - date of first child, number of children, name the children - and guest's favorite bride and groom memory.

10  Gallery Glass Grapes-and-Ivy Window (now with more pictures) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by JessiokaFroka on: August 23, 2008 11:41:29 PM
So I literally just finished painting this window. This picture is the view from outside my house, and it's a night, so it's a tiny bit blurry, but I will post another picture or two tomorrow morning.

At night:

The next morning, all dry:
