1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: I finally made a Wire Basket! on: February 15, 2008 02:47:52 PM
Thank you so much!  It took about an hour to complete.

I used 20 and 26 gauge wires.

I'm thinking of getting more wire and trying a larger one with 18 and 24 gauge.

That bracelet is adorable.   Cheesy

What did you dip the wire loops in?

Thank you!

I have been wanting to try this forever, but was intimidated by the process.  Turns out, it is pretty easy.  Just takes up a lot of wire.

It is a 1/2 inch deep and 2 inches in diameter.

This is my third attempt at a woven wire basket.

I was running out of wire, so I used the beads on the sides.   Grin

Thank you so much, Dutchclassic!!  Grin That little vessel was so fun to make...I tried to make the wire look like a handle. hehe

Cajunlady...cute tote!  I really love this one from your shop, too.

Oh and Sweets4ever Yeah..I have it lit up like Vegas now when I take pictures because it used to look like I was taking pictures in a closet by candlelight. LOL  I think I will try toning the light down a little and see if that brings out the detail of the wire more...

What a great idea for a thread!  I love, love, love making wire jewelry, and there are great resources here!

I have a few to add to the pot from my internet travels.

Eni Oken is a fabulous wire jewelry artist.  It is worth the trip to her site just to see her pretties, but she also has some free tutorials:
