1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Two Summer Dresses on: August 26, 2012 03:17:14 PM
I started getting into sewing again this summer, but haven't created anything from scratch before. I decided to try to create some patterns and see how they would work out. I used some leftover fabric for the blue one, and some new patterned fabric for the second. I'm thinking that the patterned dress may look better with a different color ribbon, and I may take down the front of it some more since it's pretty high up on my chest. Any pointers for a first time dressmaker?

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Button/Badge Maker? on: October 24, 2010 02:57:31 PM
I've been searching for ages for a button/badge/pin maker. I did find the 'professional' version of them, but they're about $350 and make mass quantities of them. I would really like to make 1" - 2" buttons to pin onto things but I really can't find any button makers or kits that got any good reviews. Does anyone have any suggestions, or any products that they found that make really nice buttons without going the completely professional route?

You do amazing work!!

I have to say it matches perfectly with your hair color. Do you mind sharing what type of dye/what color you have it? It's absolutely beautiful!
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Onigiri - YUMM!! on: September 28, 2009 12:19:17 AM
Thank you all for looking!

Don't be afraid to make them, they're not as hard as they look and really, as long as you wet your hands it's not so bad with the stickiness factor either. If anything, you can always eat the rice if you can't get it to form into the shape you want Smiley
5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Onigiri - YUMM!! on: September 27, 2009 03:14:15 PM
Here are my first few batches of onigiri. The first batch had salmon in the center, the second batch (the ones with the flowers ) have crab meat in the center. I followed the instructions on the back of the Nishiki rice for the cooking instructions, but I was proud that they came out pretty because I hardly ever cook.

Sorry for the terrible pictures.
