1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Peacock Mosaic on: July 03, 2011 12:11:56 PM
Even if it did not turn out like you planned, it is still stunning.

May I ask what it is that you don't care for?

Thanks so much! I guess if I could do it all over again (and believe me, I won't!) I would have used the wet saw to cut out the bottom feathers. Something about them doesn't look quite right me. Maybe they're too blocky or something? Like the lines could have been more fluid.... I can't put my finger on it!

But I really appreciate all of the kind words- I was afraid to post it! Typical, insecure art freak. Undecided

Ummm not blocky at all; it's awesome! But if you really can't stand the sight of it I have the perfect spot to hang it in my house!  Wink  But seriously, it is gorgeous!

4  Florida / Florida: Panhandle / New Knitting (stitching) Group in Tallahassee on: January 27, 2011 10:47:56 AM
Hi all you Tallahassee area knitters, crocheters, and pretty much mobile crafters of all kinds!  A new group has been formed and we're having a blast! We meet the 1st Tuesday of the month from 5:00 until 7:00+ at the Fermentation Lounge (http://fermentationlounge.com/) located at 113 All Saints.

I've made it to the last two meetings and it has been just plain fun! There are people of all skill levels and people doing all kinds of projects. I'm working on a Dr. Who scarf for my husband, another is working on a felted bag, another makes these wonderfully complicated hats and baby sweaters with needles so tiny I'm amazed she can keep track of her stitches, another is crocheting a somethin' or another, another couple of people using nifty knitters, and another has this awesome portable needle felting kit and makes these little adorable creatures so quickly I have to say I am in awe of her talent! The people are from a wide variety of backgrounds and are an even wider range of ages. We typically have a group of about 10 - 15 ladies and gentlemen.

Basically, we hang out, have a pint or two of quality adult beverages, snacks, jibber jabber and work on our projects. Its a great time.  If you're in the area you MUST join us! When you get there I'm the redhead working on the humongous scarf.   Wink

5  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: gauged earrings? on: August 19, 2010 01:39:48 PM
I know it is possible to make them out of glass. I suggest contacting your local glass shop, they should be able to hook you up with a class to learn to make them.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Friendship Bracelet Swap Gallery on: April 24, 2010 05:14:17 AM
I have received all three of my bracelets and I LOVE them all!

I got this one from ckchan - I adore the square pattern! I might have to learn this one.

This gorgeous one is from craft and bake - the way the green goes from light to dark is just awesome!

This one is from mannon2 - I love green and purple together!

Thank you all so much, Great work!  I'm already wearing them!

Yay!    I received plentiful purpleful goodness from my partners - Received from PinkyK & Craftandbake on Tuesday, and from Ckchan today!

PinkyK made a big purpley sparkley bracelet, then she decided it wasn't up to her standard of knotting, so she included a dantier version, too!  (I'm so very amused by the sparkles, PinkyK - thank you so much for both of them!)

This was a fun first swap!  It's been neat seeing all the different variations on friendship bracelets!

Whew! I'm so glad you like them. I was so disappointed when the large one came out so wonky.  Sad  I just couldn't send it but I figured it would work great with other bracelets so I decided to send it but with a smaller (quicker and simpler) bracelet with the same colors. I just didn't want you to get crappy stuff on your first swap!  Smiley

For the sparkles I used metallic embroidery floss. It's tempermental stuff but is sooooo pretty!
