11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / personalised silver necklace on: March 30, 2006 04:45:50 AM

i've been doing some silversmith evening classes and i thought i'd show off one of the necklaces i've made.

I cut this out of a 1mm thick silver sheet with a little saw and then filed and polished it up.
the name plate measures about 5cm across.

i want to get a chunkier silver chain to attach it it to i think...

12  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / *furry flying ducks - couldn't afford wallpaper!! on: March 28, 2006 09:00:19 AM

i've just moved into my new place and have been doing lots of decorating.
didn't have enough money to do exactly what i wanted (gold leaf entire house etc.) so have been having to get creative with what i can afford!
here are some pics of my bedroom wall.
i really love old school flying ducks, so here's my more modern take on it.
they are cut out of furry sticky backed plastic. i really love how it makes the black look so matt against the grey wall.

I hope you like too  Grin

13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / transferring images onto felt on: February 16, 2006 05:15:09 AM

i am starting a project at the moment that involves personalised fuzzy-felt.
first i need to work out a way of transferring quite detailed imagery onto the felt itself.

i was wondering if anyone here had ever tried to use iron-on transfers onto felt...

do you think this would work?
i am worried that the surface of the material might not adhere to the sticky on the paper.

any advice or ideas anyone has would be very much appreciated - otherwise if anyone can think of any other way i could get a detailed image onto felt, i would love to hear about it!!

thanks in advance peeps,
