6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / my new computer bag! (img hvy) on: September 25, 2005 12:43:16 PM
hey y'all...
so i've been wanting a computer bag for the longest... i ordered fabric, batting, and other stuff from www.fabric.com (it was great!), and went to work.
i broke 4 needles and stabbed myself w/ the seam ripper.
plus i didn't come out exactly like i wanted, but... i still like it.
i used lots of batting, so it's very well padded.
on to the pics!

what do you think? thanks for looking...

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / www.fabric.com on: September 17, 2005 09:33:58 PM
hey all!!!  as i am a busy student, i have little time to leave my books and hit the streets to fabric shop... so, i just placed a nice big order on www.fabric.com...

has anyone ever used this site before?  just curious!  also, they've got a decent selection, for very student-friendly prices.  i bought some fabric to make a bag for my laptop... i got batting and everything!

ETA: if you type in FIRST as a coupon code, you get free shipping w/ your first order!!!  plus, the shipping is only $4 everytime after that...

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / my new clutch, please look!! :) on: August 19, 2005 11:11:36 AM
hey all,

i'd really like to know what y'all think about my new clutch.  it's actually not a flimsy clutch, it's made out of a nice stiff, but soft, denim fabric.  i also added a little support to it inside to make it not so floppy.  the lining is this cute polka dot fabric i got at the $1/yd fabrics at walmart when i was visiting home.

instead of doing "organized pleats" i just gathered the fabrics... it still turned out looking pretty organized though.  i made two of them so far, and gave one to my roommate who loves it!!  mine is actually pretty big, so it fits a bunch of stuff, even the current book that i'm reading, so it's not just an "out on the town bag..."

i'd love to hear feedback, i'm really trying to improve.  Smiley  thanks!
