11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Tarot Card Tote Bag on: January 22, 2006 08:15:35 AM
Hey everyone, I'm planning to make a tote-bag from tarot cards via the ol' packing tape method. The sides will probably be 4 cards by 3 cards, and the depth will be about 2 cards. (Mind you that tarot cards are longer then normal playing cards. So, two questions:
(1) I want to use traditional fabric straps, but I'm not sure how to affix them to my bag, since it will be tarot cards and tape, and I still want it to be as sturdy as possible. Ideas?
(2) Should I cover the backs and fronts with packing tape? I don't want the outside images to be cloudy or anything, so I'm thinking just backs, but that brings up the issue of sturdyness. Suggestions?
Thanks everyone! Cheesy
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Minty Goodness on: December 18, 2005 05:44:57 AM
Hey people, for christmas gifts this year I've been wanting to make some simple jewelery for people and was really inspired by www.glitterlimes.com to make somthing similar. I want to used those little round red-and-white peppermints and attatch them to boobypins. Problem: (i assume) the candy should be sealed with somthing (somthing not water based, laquer, resin,) but that wont mess up the pretty colors or anything. Any Ideas? Huh

14  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Nancy, If you were my wife... on: September 17, 2005 07:11:14 AM
O.K, so I had the BEST couple's costume idea EVER. I'm so poud of myself. (Im sure a nerd.) BUT ANYWAY, my boyfriend and I are going to our highschool GSA's halloween costume party as Winston Churchill and Lady Astor. Anyway, his costume won't be too hard, but i have no idea what to do for mine. Here are some pics of each:
 Him: http://www.britannica.com/nobel/macro/5001_30.html
 Her: http://xroads.virginia.edu/~MA04/ranger/astor_collection/ladyastor.html
Anyway, she's basically just a victorian/edwardian nobel.... so I just need that kind of a costume. help, more pics, advice, patterns, sewing ideas, shoes hair, ANY advice would totally rock my socks.
Thank you! Grin
15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Best Party EVER on: August 29, 2005 03:38:21 PM
Alright, I'm trying to think of ideas for my 17th b-day party in late October. But, frankly, I dont have ANY ideas. So, im asking to hear all about the best/most creative/most overall fun  parties everyone has ever been to/thrown. Themed or casual, I really need some ideas.

p.s., I love halloween, but havn't been able to make a halloween-ish party work out very well, so new takes on that would be greatly appriciated.
16  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / SPIDERMAN! on: August 02, 2005 09:42:09 AM
Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find a stencil of a spider, a web or even spiderman? I'm trying to make a pillow for my spiderman-obsessed friend. I am really not good at drawing, so I was hoping to find one but I haven't been able to. Help please!
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Nerdy Boyfriend on: August 01, 2005 05:46:27 AM
O.K., my boyfriend of 15 months is going away to college. I'd like to make somthing special for him.... I'm staying in the northeast and he's going to CANADA so I won't see him too often. I'm not sure what to make for him.... maybe somthing for his dorm? Clothing? (I was considering an ink-jet iron -on.)  Anyone have any ideas? (He's 18, and a nerd if that helps. Into computers and comic books and all that jazz.) Huh I need to think of somthing, he's leaving this month!
