13  11th doctor outfit - vest, fitted shirt, skirt - updated 10/3 - new pics! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by yoyowa on: September 05, 2010 05:12:28 PM
I'm on a doctor who crafting kick. I've never made clothes before so this is a first.

I decided to make a doctor who inspired collection. I have some original designs coming but this particular one was mainly based off Tara Reich, who I heard about on a geek website I follow.
Here's her drawing:

And here's a pic of the 11th doctor:

I had no idea what I was doing, I never have the attention span for patterns, instructions, etc.  Tongue I went to salvation army and got an oversized mens button down, an old lady's blazer that was far to big and a pair of pants two sizes too big (this outfit isn't for me, my dress form is of a friend. I'm a big girl and wanted to start with smaller items).
I'm so proud of how it came out. Its not the best certainly but I love it (and I hardly like anything I make). I wanted to wait till I had pics of my friend in the outfit but I'm too excited.

Don't mind the green underneath, its the covering of my dress form.

puffed sleeve detail:

And I finally got some pics of the outfit on my friend. She's posing with a screwdriver...if you watch doctor who you get it.
(I know, she's trying to open a WOODEN door with a sonic screwdriver...she doesn't watch the show)

The back:

14  Another clockwork mask in Costumes: Completed Projects by yoyowa on: September 05, 2010 04:58:02 PM
I'm on a doctor who crafting fix. I've decided to make a doctor who inspired "collection" (I say "collection" because I've only made one outfit so far and I've never made clothes before). I have plans for a modern clockwork robot outfit and I wanted to make a mask to go with.

The outfit (once made) will be inspire by this particular clockwork robot:

I made this last night and made the mask off a paused scene on my dvd. I just realized I missed some swirly things on the forehead (the guys hair/wig was always in the way for a complete visual) but oh well.

I bought the mask and then painted it. I suck at painting so I'm proud, lol

And me with the mask (i have a big head so it doesn't exactly fit right)

15  Exterminate! Doctor Who items - Dalek and 10th Doctor accessory (converse) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by yoyowa on: August 18, 2010 06:50:41 PM
Hello all! Long time no post! I finally remember to take some pics of my items to share  Smiley

So, I love Doctor Who...against my will. My brother made me watch the premier of season 5 despite the fact that I always made fun of the show previously and instantly I was hooked. I watched the other four seasons in a matter of weeks and on my recent birthday I demanded a doctor who shirt (with my favorite line - It's a fez, I wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool. Sadly it shrank and is unwearable but it will be a pillow). So when I decided to start doing some polymer clay stuff, naturally I went with Doctor Who related items.

First, the converse shoes. I actually did these before I became an addict of Doctor Who but it fits  Cheesy   My friend Sarah was getting married and I was a bridesmaid. She didn't have a cake topper but talked about how she and her fiance were planning on wearing their chucks at the wedding. She always wear red ones and him black. For her birthday I decided to attempt making them for her (one red and one black), thinking if she liked them they could be a wedding cake topper. She adored them and I was impressed with myself (I hardly ever like what I make). It the first object/model I've ever made (I've only done canes/beads before)

The pics are awful, I apologize. The converse all star symbol is on the side of each. The back even said ALL*STAR. And the bottoms were tan with a similiar rubber sole pattern (if that makes sense). The laces were ribbon.

And the Dalek I made. I'm not happy with the "egg beater" part, as I call it. And the round circles/bumps I think are a little too large in comparison (I was distracted watching True Blood when I made those, lol). But for my second time, I was happy! Again, bad pics.

Any good? Or am I delusional? Tongue

I apologize for the poor pictures...

I've smoke weed for 17 years pretty faithfully. I decided to stop-made it about a month. It was awful! I was so grouchy, mean and unmotivated and thought everyone hated me. the minute I did it again - i felt great!
back - all was right with the world. I don't understand how weed is any different than prescribed (anti-depressants) medication. both alter you....i don't think i can (or want to) live without weed!!!

i am 30 years old. my parents run my life.

My mom just ended her second marriage after 13 years. What scares me the most is what it means for my marriage. I don't want to make the same mistakes.

I didn't learn how to ride a bike until i was 15.

The same day I almost ran over a little girl tying her shoes and an old lady carrying her groceries, i did run into a bush andmy cousin on her bike. i haven't ridden another bike since that summer. it was horrifying

18  Re: Stenciled Plates - Audrey, the joker, v for vandetta, twiggy, lucy in Stenciling: Completed Projects by yoyowa on: August 03, 2009 01:24:42 PM
Great fun!  Are they clear glass with the stencils on the back side?

Exactly. I paint the back and then seal it with something.

these are fantastic!
id love to decor my own kitchen ware. imagine bowls that say "ah we meet again" at the bottom =D
how are u able to eat off them? the ones of V and Joker seem sprayed on?

I attempted a bowl of sorts but wasn't too please with the outcome....i used the smallest stencil I had for th bottom. If something was written along the side it would look much better but I can not for the life of me paint nice handwriting...
Oh, I found the pic, here:

^also I screwed up a little on this one, as i'm sure you can see.
