23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Lutterloh Pattern Making System on: May 28, 2008 06:59:04 PM
Has anyone tried this?

I am hesitant to buy before at least seeing some of the styles offered...I am really interested in the XL, XXL patterns if anyone has tried them...but really anything.

24  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Rectangle shaped quilt block? on: May 02, 2008 10:18:19 PM
I would like to make this bag for my mom for Mother's Day.

https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176509.0

I would like to make the sides of the bag as quilt squares.  I have done some simple quilting before...but have not done anything like paper piecing...

My problem is...I am looking for a pattern that makes a rectangular quilt block...

Is there anything out there like that?
25  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Macro Photo Challenge: Illumination on: April 20, 2008 11:32:35 PM
Taken at the Tuscon Botanical Gardens.  I still can't believe it sat still long enough for me to take this.

26  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Severus Snape Poppet on: March 23, 2008 12:05:57 AM
Here he is.

No Tail

No Ears (whoops)

And don't tell him, but the pattern kinda makes him up with 'lady bits' but since his pants are sewn to his body he will never find out.  Though I did let him sit around for 2 days naked on the coffee table in the living room...hmmmm...

Oh well,

Oh...and his wand is a tooth-pick....but don't tell him.

Anyone in for the "I'm pining for Harry Potter Swap".

We could do this as another House/Fave Character Swap...or whatever.

I can organize too!  I have some free time finally!

29  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help with Beanie on: September 09, 2007 09:11:47 AM
I'm trying to make a simple sc beanie.  I am using Bernat Softee Chunky so it's a bit heavier than normal.

When I  crochet the second and third rounds it starts to go all "wobbly" around the edge.

Basically I'm doing:

Ch 6 and join with sl st to form a ring.

16 sc into ring and join with sl st.  Ch 1

2 sc into each sc around.  Sl st to join, Ch 1

2sc, 1 sc around, sl st to join, ch 1

etc etc.

But the edge goes all flowery and doesn't form a nice "bowl".

Is that because I am using chunky yarn?

Or what am I doing wrong?
