941  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Paw protectors for doggies on: August 08, 2005 07:36:55 AM
Oh my Chihuahua in Vegas needs these... I must figure out how to make them...

Too bad I only know SC and the only think I have knitted is a Triangle--it was supposed to be a square--that my husband says looks like the beginning of a thong...

But RUFUS MUST HAVE THESE!  They are so cute...

I think the dress would look great if you shortened the sleeves to up to around your elbows, still with a bigger cuff and still a little puffy, and then make a big neckline so you could wear it '80s style if you wanted to... it would look great over jeans!

Here's a site-- it's more like words and accents though but really fun stuff.

944  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: France in a box??? Also, Sleepover in a box? on: August 06, 2005 10:21:09 AM
For Sleepover in a Box---
There  used to be this game called GirlTalk where there were like truth and dare cards that was pretty funny, and if you didn't want to do something you had to put a "zit sticker" on your face and wear it for the rest of the night...  you might be able to find it or make your own version of it, I think it was from the early '90s.

There is a movie called Sleepover out now that I saw ads for, but personally we always watched Grease, and the Saved by the Bell box sets are out now so that would be fun too!

You could always put in craft supplies to make marble magnets for their lockers from Tiger Beat or those magazines, or friendship bracelets or stuff to decorate flip flops or something!

I am sure she would like it if you cut out interesting newspaper articles from your city as well, local news can be so funny, especially the police blotters.  Also if you go to your local library you can go through old newspapers on that machine... don't rememeber what it is called right now, and print out old articles and ads.  They're really interesting and I am sure they would maybe bring back memories and be even more interesting to her.

In college my roomates and I built a bar (just out of plywood) for the corner of our living room, we painted the front panel with the chalkboard paint.  When we had parties it was a great place to write all of the drinks we had.  We painted a coffee table we found on the sidewalk with the extra paint, and guests really liked leaving little messages on that too.
947  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Huge cracked mirrored closet door... on: July 31, 2005 07:39:39 AM
Ok I have a huge rectangle mirrorred closet door, pretty much cracked right down the diagnal.  We're removing the doors because they are so ugly in the first place but what should I do with that one?  I'm nervous about it because I don't want glass shards all over my house, have a small baby.

So, what can I do that's kid safe and all?
948  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Pick Love on: July 29, 2005 08:42:34 AM
That's so cool!  And on the last picture you posted, I thought that you had added picks to your jean cuffs... that would look so fabulous... (if you had a lot of cash lying around) I used to work in a boutique in Vegas and we would have sold jeans like that for $300 easily... I love it with your heels too!
949  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Tiered Gypsy Skirts on: July 27, 2005 01:15:37 PM
Here's the one I've been working on the last couple of days...

I love the gold in the fabric, I was thinkign of adding some gold trim possible or trying the Broomstick effect but I really like it!  Especially with my $5 boots from Buffalo Exchange  Grin

Haha Thanks!  It used to be long and blonde so it's quite a change...  but after I had a baby I just couldn't deal with all the maintenance...

Oh and the "whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa..." post up above totally reminds me of a family guy episode...
Too funny...
