1  Charcoal Drawing I did in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by holytararor on: April 03, 2009 09:23:08 PM
I did this a month ago when I was stuck in bed with strep throat. My drawings don't turn out looking much like the subject but oh well.  Tongue

2  Is This Savagable? in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by holytararor on: January 30, 2009 11:00:09 AM
I started this a year ago it was suppose to be a multimedia collage on canvas. The image is a caulk photo transfer which I made the mistake of putting on too large of a canvas for its size. Also there was lettering on the photo which I wasn't able to edit out before the transfer and the lettering also happens to be backward. Is there anything I can do to improve this mess or should I toss it and start from scratch?

3  Re: GHOST WORLD swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by holytararor on: July 12, 2008 09:46:28 PM
I received from Pinupmommy today quick sender! Also the package was accented with zebra print tape, a la Enid.
Check book cover with various Ghost World images including one of Seymour and Enid my favorite characters:

Trinket box with Rebecca on it from the comic:

Anchor earrings that remind me of the sailor outfit Enid wears in the movie:

She also sent me a Ghost World themed notebook which suffered a little in the mail. The lettering on the notebook got melted in the heat (which I know it is summer and all but seriously what kind of abuse did the UPS do to this package. Grrr UPS) and made the check book cover stick to it:

But I tried to fix it as best I could:

Inside of the notebook:

4  Re: I miss Harry Potter Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by holytararor on: July 12, 2008 07:39:43 PM
I received from Kimtastic today and my jaw dropped when I opened it she really out did herself. My crafty skills are put to shame.
Here is the lot it was buried in silver tinsel very festive!!!

Harry Potter Trading Cards

Dobby's doily

Death Eater magnet the picture makes it look small but it is about 10 1/2" x 7"

There is nothing like having a gang of Death Eaters staring you down to keep you to your diet

Bellatrix and Voldemort in crochet form...awww who thought the Dark Lord would ever look so cute and cuddly?

Knit HP golden snitch dish cloth in relief (is that what you call it? I can't think of the right term for it)

Check out this Slytherin Bag, and if you notice the handle is a snake, nifty nifty detail its also super soft

A super soft Griffindors house scarf (yes I am defiantly a Slytherin but those Griffindors rock)

This is my cat Bellatrix trying to intercept my owl post, she must have suspected my Griffindor sympathies

Last but not least a real wood carved wand

It's about 15 inches long

5  Dresden Dolls T Shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by holytararor on: May 29, 2008 11:01:00 AM

The front was done with freezer paper and I think I got the stencil from Stencilry.  The back was done with generation tee brand iron on letters which I could have just saved five buckets by doing a freezer paper stencil for but that is hindsight I guess.  Also I didn't realize it at the store but the package didn't contain enough of the letter D so the second D in Dresden is painted on.

6  Problem with Anarchy Hat in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by holytararor on: May 08, 2008 09:05:17 PM
Ok this is the 3rd time I have worked up this flipping hat only to frog it. It is the Anarchy Irony hat from Happy Hooker. The problem is the back seam is turning out all crooked:

On the 4th try I made sure to be super careful about counting stitches and putting my hook in the correct place to start the next round but the same thing is happening.

I didn't know if this should go here or in the Happy Hooker board because its a question not a finished project so I will move it if necessary.

7  Heck of a lot of Hooking in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by holytararor on: May 05, 2008 08:04:36 PM
Fitted to be Tied was the first crochet project I did from a pattern over a year or so ago I just got around to taking a photo of. It is lined in black and has a snap closure, in Caron Simply Soft it is too floppy especially the handle:

This is the boy beanie in white:

and in Slytherin colors:

The Skullholders I won't use as a potholder since I tend to catch them on fire so they only have the one side/ply? and no border, might just hang them on the wall:

and in Slytherin colors:

8  Potty Mouthed Cross Stitches in Needlework: Completed Projects by holytararor on: May 04, 2008 09:45:02 PM
This was inspired by my former job:

From Subversive Cross Stitch:

They are kind of small so I don't know what to do with them to make them displayable.

9  Out house bookmark in Completed Projects by holytararor on: April 19, 2008 05:44:36 PM
This is a play on the stereotypes of living in a rural Appalachian area of Virginia. Some people think everyone has one in their backyard  Roll Eyes
