7  UNITED STATES / Maryland / '05 craft events in baltimore on: January 16, 2005 09:46:03 AM
One of the many things I have been wanting to do is to start a website listing contacts for local craft events, so artists can sell their work at them. It seems that you have to know someone who knows to get into an event. I am no where near getting a website together, but here is the list of events I have participated in or really like. I don't have the contact info, but you can find the info by googling. The real biggies are the Towsontown festival in May, The Hopkins Fair in April. The HampdenFest in September. Artscape in July. The Fells Point Fun Festival in October. I also like to do the Higlandtown flea mkt on Saturdays or the Farmers Mkt on Sundays.  Other smaller and fun events are the Sowebo festival, Long Reach Country Fair, Bolton Hill festival, Abell Ave festival, Pigtown festival, Rythm festival...

anyone going to have a table a the charles vlg festival on june 5&6?  i am going to give it a try this year. the festival is great fun, kind of a hippie event near johns hopkins university and the balto museum of art - in wyman park.  it is paired with a foot race and bicycle event - so lots of people are there. and great local music, too!

for some reason, my husband wants us to start using placemats at the kitchen table. i can sew anything, so i don't want to make something out of fabric. any cool ideas? i thought of making collages or taking old maps and laminating them. what else can i do? i prefer to recycle something.
