1  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Another Review - with [sometimes poor] pictures on: March 03, 2006 04:46:26 AM
I'm in the UK too and got mine this morning- I had thought it wasn't going to be released over here just yet  [I think Amazon had sometime in April listed a couple of weeks ago] but I looked on Amazon the other day and it was available to order now  Smiley

I'm impressed so far with it- I haven't yet decided on my first project though, there's just so much to choose from.

What age to the patterns in this book go up to and are most of them for girls??  I've been looking for a pattern book for toddlers for ages.

I love it and the hat set too- what pattern did you use for the hat??

I didn't use that pattern, but one very similar- the one on the cover of Interweave crochet '05.  I've made up an adult-sized one which I dyed with kool-aid but I really don't like the colour so won't be posting a pic of that.  But I adapted the pattern to make a scarf for my neice who will be 3 next month.  Its part of a set with a matching bag and hat.

I really enjoyed making this scarf- it works up really quickly and the pattern just looks so nice Smiley   I can't seem to get a good pic that shows the true colours of the yarn- it's all aqua's and greens- a colour called 'lagoon'.  The scarf doesn't curl at the end like it seems to in the pic.

I really like that  Smiley- what did you use for the strap???

yep- a great idea to personalise scarfs- would never have thought of using fabric ( have used crocheted flowers, etc but never fabric) Smiley

I finished mine a couple of days ago- I agree it's a really easy pattern and it just looks so nice.  Am going to look for my camera later today (it seems to have a mind of its own since the kids swear they haven't touched it and I can't find it lol)- will post a pic when it turns up. Smiley
