1  Re: Cupcake Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by PenGwend on: June 24, 2008 01:14:09 PM
Yesterday!!!  Augh!  Well, I hope that the potentially melt-able part of your package is still ok with all the dry ice and reusable ice I put in there!

In other, happier news, I got my package today!  I have to say it might be the most awesome package I've ever gotten in a swap!  Here come the photos!

The whole thing, all wrapped up beautifully in lovely, summery tissue (which I think is even the nice, floral kind!)

Super cute cupcake stickers, which look like they're coloured in by hand!! Glittery, cute and wonderful - I may have to keep them for myself instead of distributing them to my kiddies at school...

A great cupcake cookbook (which will be great for the school year!), a cupcake liner modge podge-d notebook (did you know that I always carry around a little notebook to write notes, draw out ideas and stuff?) and extra cupcake liners

And a beautifully well made purse!  The lining is the same cupcakes on lime in the panel on the outside, which is also a giant pocket!

(my younger sister has already claimed it as her own, which I figured was fair since she had to come with me to collect the package from the post office, which took over an hour!)

Did you think I was done?  Oh no!  Someone else has been spoiled too - my bunny, Tuzi (pronounced Too-zee)
FlipFlop made him a little towel with amazing little cupcake appliques and embroidery.  It's even in his favourite colour - yellow!  It's so funny, he loves yellow.  I accidentally dropped a piece of yellow fabric on the floor once and he came running over to claim it for himself.  So, my bf and I went and bought him a whole set of his own yellow towels so we could let him know which places are his (as opposed to "ours").  I think this is exactly the kind of towels we got him even, but his new towel is waaaay prettier!

And a quick shot of Tuz checking out his new towel:

Thanks so much FlipFlop!!  And more photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/34667947@N00/?saved=1!

2  Strawberry the Summer PenGwen in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by PenGwend on: May 15, 2007 05:40:50 PM
Meet Strawberry, the Summertime PenGwen.  She's constructed from anti-pill fleece and quilter's cotton.  She's not your typical penguin but she's a lot of fun, and loves to go picking strawberries!

5  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 8! closed in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by PenGwend on: March 17, 2007 07:36:06 AM
Ok guys, something is obviously wrong with me/my internet/my computer.  I posted pics of the mini-journals and pouches I'm offering yesterday and today the post isn't there!  I swear I checked and it looked all ok and everything.  Sad  Maybe I'm just going nuts and everyone else can see my post but me?  Anyway here are the photos again.  The last 2 pouches are in the last stages of assembly:

The journals (great for carrying around in your pocket or purse for spur of the moment craft ideas or inspiration!):

The pouches (good for anything from M&Ms to holding your little journal!)

I'm super super sorry that my post didn't work earlier.  I feel like I've messed up the swap Sad  I hope our poor mods can figure it out...

7  Re: Handspun & Handcrafts Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by PenGwend on: November 09, 2006 06:17:01 AM
Yaaayy!!  I recieved my BOX of goodies from FrewFrew today!  She sent me such great stuff!  I'm going to have to think of some special things to make with the yarn.  Without further ado...

Everything together:
4! Skeins of yarn, a set of circular bamboo needles (now I just need to learn how to use them!), and a cool row counting bracelet!

Lavender Yarn - I like this colour a lot!  I want to make something really cool out of this - but I'm afraid to mess it up!

Hot Pink!  I think this will make an awesome pair of wristwarmers.  Smiley

Teal yarn - you can't tell much from the photo, but it has sparkle to it!!  Yay for sparkles!

SILK yarn!  This is definitely my favourite from the bunch and will have to wait for a really special pattern to come along.

Last, but definitely not least,

The awesome row counting bracelet!  Ok, honesty time; being the new knitter that I am, please explain how I use this?  I've been making wristwarmers (to learn how to knit in the round, with 4 needles), and it's hard for me to match them length-wise, so I'm guessing that's what this is for...) I wanna use it now now now!!

Thanks again FrewFrew!  I love everything!  My mom's coming over to have dinner tonight, and she's going to be so jealous!

9  Some new pouches - photographing ideas? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by PenGwend on: May 16, 2006 01:40:51 PM
I posted some of my other pouches earlier, but here are some new ones.  I feel like the photos don't really capture their cuteness etc... anyone have any ideas about that?

My camera always wants to adjust the colour and then it looks weird when I upload it to flickr/my computer, and they're always kind of dark.  But then when I shine all kinds of light on them, the colour gets weird too.  I saw a post about making a light box to photograph jewelry... do you think that would work better?

10  Re: Spring Cleaning: Trade Craft Supplies INSTA-SWAP in The Swap Gallery by PenGwend on: April 28, 2006 07:16:08 AM
I got some awesome stuff from dabba last Saturday!  My camera didn't have batteries, which is why I'm just getting to posting a picture now.  It was hard to leave the goodies alone on the table for so long.  I have exams/papers Monday and Tuesday, so it's going to be even harder not to start a new project.  She sent me Tootsie Roll fabric!  My roommate is addicted to those, so I let her have that fabric.  We're going to design a cool candy bag for her to make out of it.  Smiley

Thanks dabba!
P.S.  TessTessi, I have my fingers crossed for your package...  I mailed it Monday but the lady at the university post office would only give me normal stamps, and no delivery confirmation.  Something about that not being a service on the flat rate boxes.  I knew this wasn't true because dabba sent my box with a DC#.  But, there was a line, the lady was mean and I guess the stamps are cool.
