14  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Re: How to recover from a flop on: December 13, 2006 01:39:40 PM
Don't get discouraged just yet. F1focus has it right, and you will learn as you go.

My partner and I have done 4 fairs and each one of them we learn more and because of that we end up selling more.

It's a lot of work to do the shows, but there's no better way to get your name out there and see what your market is.

Good luck!
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Toiletbag for my father (now with some kind of simple tutorial) on: December 11, 2006 07:25:53 AM
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I tried to make one yesterday.  It came out ok.  It's not stiff enough to stand up properly.  I used vinyl for the outer fabric and a cotton for the inside.  I think I'll try a heavy interfacing for the lining next time. The only thing I'm worried about is my machine not being able to sew through too many heavy fabrics, it barely made it with this one.  Thanks again!

Hey ladies!  We really need to get together again!  I miss you crafy chicas!  We should start planning something for after all the holidays.  Maybe a get together at Bella Dubby or another coffee shop just to catch up. We could bring a small project to work on.  Or if anyone has any other ideas....

I'm still working out how I can do a sewing demo.  I found out the hard way that i can't run my sewing machine, my lamp, my radio and my iron at the same time or I'll blow a fuse.  Sooo, I'll keep working out a plan.

Have a great Turkey Day!!!
