Thanks for the insights beyondthepale. I am still out on what to. From what I have heard from talking to some store owners who go, the lower priced items definitly seem to be the draw. Thanks for the compliments on the bibs Smiley I think the clothing area would definitly be the draw. Hmm back to thinking.

Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone else has done this show before? I am considering doing it but the price is a little high for me so I want to make sure it will be a good investment. Also would anyone be interested in maybe sharing a booth? I know you have to be approved to share a booth, and I can find out more. I am planning on doing the accessories and you can see my stuff at my etsy store or website (its listed in my signature) to see if you would fit in. Thanks Smiley
3  CANADA / Ontario / Crafty Business owners Meetings??? on: January 30, 2007 06:37:53 AM
Hey everyone, I am looking for a crafty business owners meetup in toronto. I am wondering if A. does an event like this exist or B. would anyone be interested in starting one up. I am looking for a group that gets together to discuss crafty business ideas, ie. sources, product feedback, keeping books, advertising etc.. I had a  group of friends back in the US and we did this about once a month. We talked about our business ideas, looked at each others products and offered constructive criticism and went in on wholesale ordering together. It was great because we could order items from companies that  had huge minimums and it was great to actually see each others products in person. I know you can get feedback online but without actually seeing the real construction it is hard to offer real feedback.

I would be really interested in attending such a meeting if something exisits or helping to organize something like this. We could meet at a central location and have coffee or food and chat. What does everyone think, anyone interested. I think this would be a great resource for new crafters thinking of opening a business or for people looking for info on where to buy products or help on choosing a craft fair. I look forward to hearing from everyone.

PS. I live in Toronto East and moved back to Canada almost a year ago. I have run my business for the last 3 years.

What color are you looking for? I have an unopened nice dark red I think vampire or something like that, that I haven't used and probabaly won't since I stopped dying my hair. I haven't seen that brand around here, maybe somewhere on Kensington or Coupe Bizzare if they sell dyes.

Hey does anyone know where to buy small link plastic chain? I am looking for it to do some necklaces with and any suggestions would be great. I have seen larger links think 1-2 inch size on some pet sites as it is used for bird toys but I am looking for around 1/4 -1/2 inch size and in bright colors and black. I live in Toronto but I am willing to order from the US. Thanks Smiley
8  CANADA / Ontario / Looking for Crafty Help in Toronto on: November 19, 2006 03:21:40 PM
Hi everyone,
I run a small business Pixiefashions out of my home in Toronto and I am looking for some part time crafty help to help me expand my business. I would like someone maybe two days a week in the beginning or a couple of afternoons to help sew,cut and make my accessory line. You can check out samples of my stuff at http://www.pixiefashions.com This would be great for a student or anyone with some spare time. I am also looking for help expanding so if you have any business knowledge to share it would be most welcome. Please email me with any questions or to tell me about yourself. Machine sewing ability is definitly a bonus but I also need handsewers and people to stuff my tiny items. Thanks. questions@pixiefashions.com
