21  Re: 12 Days of Christmas 2008 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Gomerriffic on: November 06, 2008 12:04:50 PM
I received my package and got to open 3 days at once! That was fun!

Day 12:  Tons of Chocolaty goodness from the UK! A couple are represented just by their package as I opened it on the way to pick up my kids from school... Tongue

Day 11: Girl's Day!  Fabulous earrings, necklaces and bracelets! and they're in sets! some for me some for my daughter...but I got the Lion's share!  Wink

here's a couple up close shots

Day 10: My Daughter's day.  She was thrilled. She loved everything and hast most of it on at once! Hair clips, an adorable "secret garden" box, some roving (that I'll help her spin up and make something out of) an adorable pouch 3 hair ties (that she loved!) a journal , a cute sticker and two amazing flower broaches. Edit: forgot to mention the three tiny turtles. They are super cute and elicited a shriek of joy, you can see them well in the garden box.

Day 9:

Nine colors of roving! I loved/squished each one and wish I had a hundred bobbins to spin it all. The photos don't do them justice. They are vivid and wonderful. You can't really see or appreciate the subtle changes in the gray colored one it has lots of colorful streaks. And the green is really cool too. Well they all are and in my favorite colors!

Day 8: "Deck the Halls"

And it was awesome! I got four beautiful napkin rings, two amazing candles with what I'm guessing is Welsh for "happy Christmas"? (Nadolig Llawen) the words just look cool! LOL and they smell amazing!  beautiful ornaments and four beautiful gift bags. Not to mention two adorable coin purses that were immediately claimed by my daughter!

Day 7: I call it the Day of AWESOMENESS

It's mario stuff! I loved this the first time I saw it, now I have one of my very own! It's made with perler beads.

Just a little pic of some of the roving spun up while I wait for the next package.  The holidays make the postal service slowwwww.

Excuse the confusion. I got to open everything at once and in my excitement I don't know if I got everything is in the right day. Smiley

Day 6:

A day for my son. It's a wonderful ATC kit! There's sooooooo much He's already agreed to share with me (Like he had a choice! Cheesy )

Day 5!

Stitch markers for me and my daughter AND a handwritten recipe book! It's awesome. The recipes are from the UK and sound wonderful! My kids were really excited! One of them is called Bubble and Squeak. Doesn't that just SOUND cool??

Day 4!

A great assortment of things and wonderful bag pins/broaches. I plan on using them for my shawls. I especially love the nintendo one!lol

She wrote a little joke about the fact that she was supposed to stop at four! LOL I didn't get as good a picture as I had hoped of the chocolates. They have already been devoured or I would take another!LOL

Day 3:

2 bags of yummy squishy roving and a nice panel of fleece in my hubby's favorite team! Hubby wants pillows out of it. I imagine that must have been hard to get american football stuff all the way over there in the UK!

Day 2: Smelly/sparkley stuff!!
Delicious smelling bath bombs!

Beautiful trinket boxes. (my phone is next to them for size reference)
Can you believe she MADE these?Huh  Shocked  The sparkle can't be captured properly they are AWESOME.

Here's the top for details

Day 1: a bag full of surprises!

23  Robin Hood BBC Geekery WARNING Spoilers ! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Gomerriffic on: September 06, 2008 09:06:35 PM
So I love the BBC version of Robin Hood. The UK gets the series way before we do in the USA. Well, I just finished watching the last episode not too long ago. In the last episode, Marian is killed! I couldn't believe it. I felt like I lost someone I knew! (I am a huge dork like that! I felt equally sad when Mark Greene from E.R. died) How can Robin not have his Marian??? So I decided, what better to pay tribute to their love than to make a handkerchief to catch all the tears! (I know I know, I'm pathetic) So here it is. The original pic is on my blog. Be kind I can only do so much with thread and needle! Oh and I'll probably put a border on it and a quote. I just can't seem to decide what to put on it yet. Probably something from their final scene together. So to the few people who feel the way I do, I hope you like it! LOL

I get to post on a Fiber Friday! Yay!  All of the yarns are truly lovely. Each one a bundle of squishy goodness! I'm excited I get to post along with such cool kids!

I only have one yarn. I call it after it's colorway, Northern lights. I had to buy it at my LYS because it begged me.

100% targee, 4 oz, approx 208 yds, 12 wpi

25  Re: IYP 9: Midsummer Masquerade Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Gomerriffic on: July 24, 2008 04:45:34 PM
Here is one of the 30 or so pictures my daughter took with in her doll house.

And in true Craftster spirit, she didn't have an oven to "bake" her cookies in, so she ripped apart a box and made one.  Grin That's my girl!

I got my second package from Sewknitter. It's totally awesome!

It was so nicely wrapped.

Some cute tawashis!

An awesome water bottle! It's big enough to even carry one of those "smart water" bottles! It came from the sweat shop swap it's creator is Dragonslair. It's great!

A tatting kit! The CD is well done! I have started playing with it!

I got a felt flower but I need to take a better picture of it. It's on a pin back so I can take it and wear it or put it on a bag. It's super cute!

Thanks so much Sewknitter, you rock!

27  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by Gomerriffic on: July 23, 2008 04:52:43 PM
Here are a couple of poppets I made for a recent swap. The first one really isn't having floppy head syndrome. She has heavier hair and kept tilting on the stand.

Here's a closeup on her face.

I received from the amazing Kishcrafts yesterday. I love each and every tiny, amazing thing SO much! I get the box and spend the next ten minutes going "OH and LOOK at THIS!" I kept shoving stuff in my hubby's face. LOL Kish and I had a little that we agreed to swap and then surprises. My dd loves her doll house but had no food. (Isn't that the best part?) So here's what she got! Because I took so many pictures I made them clickable. It was really tempting to take a pic of each individual piece.   Grin

All of these are doll house sized. I didn't have any coins for comparison. But to give you an idea. the waffles and pancakes are dime sized. The cookies (that come off!) and plate are probably not quite as big as a 50 cent piece. The detail is amazing. I wish you could see the texture of everything. I'm blown away!

This one is cute because Kish's neice helped make the yellow one. It's a stretching necklace so my girl can wear it! The other is a key chain. Both are majorly cute!

Now for my stuff!

This will be the new home for my guitar picks! You can't see it so much, but the silver is sparkly! My son wants it desperately. I'm a huge gamer nerd, so yep this is more than awesome.

Earrings, cell phone charm and a magnet.

You can't see it on the cheesecake magnet but there's a definite texture like graham cracker crust. It's uber cool to me! I love fridge magnets! And the ice cream and doughnuts are remarkably realistic.

Stitch markers! Who can ever have enough. One set is ring markers, the other clips for crochet!

Now for two incredible ATCs! They're all polymer. One is all the things on my profile that I like to do, and the other is "Textures of nature" and it has amazing textures on every part. I love them both!

Thanks so much Kish you really did an outstanding job!

wow superhooker, you must have knit and nothing else!  If her cookies are anything like her fudge they are amazing! (Yep I still covet that fudge!)

And now check out package #1 of 3 from the wonderful sewknitter! She sent me all sorts of wonderful stuff for my bento. (And a bento box!) woo!
There's bunny and bear egg molds, a flower shaped egg mold for fried eggs, sauce bottles galore! (which is great because my daughter loves to take bento to school!) four great rice molds, (two of which I've never seen anything like I can't wait to try them) a great bento with bands a carrying bag and bottle to match and food picks! I'm not sure if that's everything. hubbycame around the corner laughing because I was squealing in the kitchen! Sewknitter you picked out the perfect things! Thank you so much!
