1  Re: Paint chips + contact paper = Homemade Wallpaper! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by sitki on: April 22, 2008 02:44:20 AM
hey y'all this is Sitki's husband

I really liked the project when my wife showed me the picture and we are in the same position as everyone else... renting = no painting = no fun.

anyway when we went into town we picked up tons of paint chips from a couple of places and made a small project on a skinny wall we had

Then she thought out loud we could do cool stuff with this in a mosaic, instantly (being a nerd) 8-bit came to mind and a nano second later mario brothers and the 1-up mushroom popped in my head

(I put the 8.5x11 sheet to show relative size)

the next project is a 11 squares wider and 17 taller but I think it'll be awesome, it'll be 1800 squares Shocked , and it'll have the same background

and our roommate wants the duck hunt dog with a duck in his hand... so that'll be next Smiley

anyways... after all that, THANKS A BUNCH for doing your project and posting it for the rest of us... it's been a lot of fun!!

2  Transfer pendant and 'inside-out' beads in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by sitki on: February 23, 2007 07:09:48 PM
A few more attempts at this type of bead. It's hard to get the effect you want, but these ones escaped being squished into scrap clay. My second pic transfer pendant. I love it, but haven't found a way I like to wear it yet, so it's been sitting in my bead box all lonely.

3  Faux stone and clay pendants/beads in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by sitki on: February 23, 2007 07:00:50 PM
This is my first go at trying to create a stone look that actually works. A couple of these were s'pose to look like stone, but ended up looking like old clay beads. I guess it works.

5  First 'zine transfer! And stuff... in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by sitki on: August 29, 2006 06:21:35 PM
The black-framed tree is my first-ever magazine transfer with liquid scupley. I really like it, but I scrubbed a little hard on the back getting the paper fibers off, and so rubbed some ink off, and it's a little wrinkly, but I like it. The cow skull/head was made from an accident. You all have probably done the same thing, tried hard to make on ething, only to screw up and then realize you could totally turn it in to something awesome. So yay.

I forget what kind of bead it is I made in the next row, but it's the same technique used to make the 'elissa-hearts' on the bottom: squish/twist etc your scrap clay, mold into rectangle, cut in half and attach side by side, then cut each half in half, and fold those halves behind, thusly turning the rectangle inside out and smoothing the seams.

The othe two are just pendants...the beetle i printed out on special shrinky paper for the computer.

9  Cheesy fruity goodness in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by sitki on: July 09, 2006 09:28:51 PM
I made these poly clay earrings for a personal swap, as well as my first attempt at a bead covered with cane slices. As you can tell, didn't try too hard, but I still like it. It's like question marks...

I have a stack of adhesive-backed paper that was wanting to be turned into bug stickers, so:
(They look better in person, this is a really crappy scan)
