21  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Exactly how much roving is one lb? on: February 05, 2006 04:14:21 PM
So, I just ordered a spindle, and I need to order some roving to go with it.  It seems like a waste of S&H to order like.. 4 oz.  So, let's say you had a pound of roving, that you spun into worsted weight yarn, about how many yards of yarn would you have?
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Irish Hiking Wrist Warmers on: September 11, 2005 09:06:36 PM
So I knit the Irish Hiking Wrist Warmers today (pattern here: http://wineandneedles.blogspot.com/2004/12/wrist-warmer-pattern.html)

You can't really see in the picture, but yes, they have a thumb hole.  I'm debating on whether or not to dye them.  They match anything now, but they're also kind of bland.  They were fun to make, though. Smiley

23  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Chic 3d flower on: July 15, 2005 07:20:15 AM
I've got this flower attached to the corner of my moniter, but I plan on making many more for.... purse embellishments and such.

24  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / How I used my first granny square on: July 12, 2005 09:08:46 PM
After finally completing my first granny square, it wasn't perfect, so I decided to add some stuff on to it to test out a couple of techniques for upcoming projects.  When I was finished testing, I was about to throw it into the scraps bin, but realized that it looked like it would fit perfectly around my roomie's ashtray.  I cleaned up the ashtray, stuck it on, & sewed up the corners to make it stay better.  Now I have a nifty... potpourri dish or something.  I'm up for suggestions Wink
