31  green bubbles and white flowers top in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rufous03 on: June 26, 2007 09:40:38 PM
i finally decided to do something with this fabric that's been lying around...and came up with my first top (well, first top without a pattern).

the back would probably look much better if it was a solid color fabric instead of a print, but i don't really mind the unevenness.

32  pretty remnants + on-sale zipper = my first lined zipper pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by rufous03 on: June 23, 2007 08:02:08 AM
the subject pretty much says it all.  this is much better than my first attempt at a zipper pouch, which wasn't lined.  i don't really use these kinds of bags/pouches, but i wanted to learn how to make them, since they make good gifts.

33  fabric bifold wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by rufous03 on: June 19, 2007 11:54:51 PM
i've been meaning to try my hand at wallet-making, and since i drank too much coffee tonight and wasn't at all tired, i worked away for a few hours and came up with this.  i used lolo's tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=23554.0 and some leftover fabric from my laptop sleeve.  i want to make another one, once i find some cute fabric that's a little more interesting.

34  more key earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by rufous03 on: June 13, 2007 11:15:24 AM
i made some more key earrings, as part of a present for a friend.  for my last pair i used beading string and a couple of seed beads, but this time i just attached the keys directly to the earrings.  it's very simple, but i thought that beads and color would distract from the keys.

36  just a little coin purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by rufous03 on: June 08, 2007 06:51:19 AM
i tried making a coin purse for the first time, and it kind of worked, but i definitely need to work on my zipper skills - it's a little lopsided.  after my "experiment," i have a better idea of how to do it, so i'll try another one when i have the time.

37  men's renaissance costumes in Costumes: Completed Projects by rufous03 on: June 03, 2007 11:55:57 AM
more movie costumes i made a couple years ago for my brothers.  i used simplicity 5925.  i was quite proud of the shirt, mostly because of the fabric.  it's a rough weave, and looks cool as a peasant costume.  it can be used for various characters: prince, commoner, poet, pirate, etc.  the robe has yet to be seen in a movie, but i think my brother has plans for it as the costume for a wealthy, comic-relief character.

38  capes in Costumes: Completed Projects by rufous03 on: June 02, 2007 02:09:21 PM
i've used this pattern (simplicity 5794) many times, here are a couple of the finished products.  black capes always come in handy.  Wink  i got the fabric for the red one from a thrift store - it's really thick and heavy, feels kind of like old drapes.  i made both of the capes (along with several more in other colors) for my brothers' costume collection, to make use of in their movies.

40  chemise and corset in Costumes: Completed Projects by rufous03 on: June 01, 2007 10:44:25 PM
i found a very easy pattern for a chemise on reddawn.net/costume, and i used the tutorial from roethke for the corset.  being my first corset, it's full of mistakes, but i'm still quite pleased with it.  and it made for a good costume to wear when i went to see pirates 3. Smiley
