From the thumbnail, I thought it was Remy from Ratatouille!  What a cutie!  Great work!  And the perfect book, too!
2  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Let's get together for some Toronto crafty events this fall! on: August 28, 2018 03:18:56 PM
Culture days takes place all across Canada.  The website for Ontario is: https://on.culturedays.ca/en/activities

You enter your city or postal code and they will show you listings of everything available near you.  From my experience, it's all hosted free of charge, all supplies included.  I've done needle felting in the past, as well as metal stamping, henna tattoos, watched a cake decorating demo, etc.  Most places are drop-in, some require reserving online in advance.

Local businesses (or cultural dance troupes, bakeries, art guilds, museums, galleries, recording studios, etc) host demos or workshops for the public to participate in.  Some are geared toward kids or teens, some are reserved for adults if the activity is slightly more advanced or uses sharps/tools.

If you can find a cultural hub, they will often host dozens of activities all in the same place.  That's what I did last year, instead of having to go from venue to venue.  I love that it takes place over three days so that you can choose your own adventure for the weekend.

I'd be happy to attend local events.

Culture Days has free art activities and workshops (I did metal stamping last fall).  September 28-30, locations vary.

In June, Evergreen community storefront in Hamilton hosted an art supply swap.  Great way to de-stash supplies and find new treasures, all free of charge.  I missed it so I'm hoping they'll host another soon.

They look very portable.  They'd probably be great to pack up for lunch the next day - if you can manage to keep any as leftovers!
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Kinetic Winged Heart Teesha Moore Patch on: August 26, 2018 08:30:34 PM
Wow, this is so great.  I thought the heart was made of polymer clay at first.  I love the textures, and how incredible that it moves.

What a great idea!  I love how you gave them each a personality.  You are so clever to have created them.

This is so cute.  I hope it can be framed or preserved somehow, it is just so perfect.  So much work, I am in awe.

Wonderful work.  You've created a treasure from something as simple as a rock.  Very well done.
