1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 70's curtain bag on: March 24, 2007 05:39:43 PM
i made this purse ages ago (almost a year!), but just recently got around to taking proper pictures of it!
There were a lot of similar purses floating around here awhile ago, because, like those, this was inspired by a purse from TopShop.
well enough talk, here it is!

and a close up

and the little keychain i made to go with it, inspired by one i saw on fredflare.com for $8! i like mine better.

thanks for looking!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / blue meshy scarf! (semi-photo-phat) on: February 19, 2007 01:59:20 AM
another project i made ages ago, i just made it up as i went kind of inspired by this scarf http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/mortoringscarf1927.html
even though they aren't very similar looking.

the two ends (which are different sizes  Undecided) are a pattern called ribbon from a pattern dictionary.

i was wondering if there was a way to make mesh without the squared looking so, well, unsquare-like.
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / your 10 cent clip-on is my fancy new necklace on: February 19, 2007 01:49:19 AM
so i found this gorgeous clip-on earring at a thrift store, with no price tag and no mate, so they gave it to me for 10cents!

this isn't a horribly difficult idea that took a lot of skill, but i thought it might inspire some of you other craftsters!

i just super glued the earring shut, you know, so it didn't "clip" anymore, and strung it on a chain!

isn't it lovely?!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my brand new car.... on: February 19, 2007 01:38:43 AM

anyway... i got this little green car figurine in a Christmas cracker and instantly knew it would make a perfect necklace, so here it is!

(first picture is the real color)

oldly, i've gotten a lot of compliments on it, i mean i knew it was awesome, but i didn't think other people would care.
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / an octopus in love on: February 19, 2007 01:29:07 AM
i made this little guy ages ago, almost a year actually! (wow) but i've been lazy!

so here he is, my purple octopus, plum!
as you can see by his eyes that he's perpetually in love!

i used the pattern for the baby octopus from this post

*edited to add the pattern
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Big eyed amigurumi pear and happy orange! on: February 19, 2007 01:24:10 AM
i made the pear off of this pattern http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/2006/07/crochet-pears-free-pattern.html

and the orange from a pattern to make a baby octopus, which is here : https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=82784.0 (thanks craftinator!)

and now a question, does anyone know how to stop large holes from appearing when you decrease,
this is what i mean

anybody? its happened before too, i don't like it!

*edited to add pattern
7  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / purple pdq! on: February 19, 2007 01:12:54 AM
so I've been holding out on you, my fellow craftster brethren by not posting my creations for months.
well i made PDQ from the book this summer with some purple red heart
haven't a chance to wear it much since i made it in the summer then i moved to Arizona, so not much need. and i don't think i look good in hats. i just made it for fun.

so here it is, flaps down

and flaps up, which i don't really like at all

see, gross!

thanks for looking!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / lets go fly a kite!...on my shirt? on: March 12, 2006 12:52:46 PM
soooo i finally got off my but and finished embellishing this polo shirt i got at a thrift store.

it was a perfect shirt, color, fit, cleanliness, it just had this kinda boring flower embroidered in that place where things get put on polos.

and i had this super cute fabric just lounging about waiting to be used, so i added the kite. but i placed it too low and it looked really empty and odd when it was on so...

the three clouds were added.

and the kite tail thing wraps around!! i tried to make little bows for the string but it was not working (at all), and after some brainstorming i decided on the buttons

i know the appliqueing isn't perfect (still figuring out how to handle the curves on the machine) but i think its cute and it turned out totally how i imagined   Smiley

comments, criticism, everything is welcome, thank you!

p.s. don't you just love my super lame title?  Tongue
9  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Where have all the Craft Stores Gone?? on: July 24, 2005 05:56:37 PM
so i semi-recently moved to england, kinda near cambridge, and i have not been able to find any cheap craft/Fabric stores!!
there is a fabric section in on of the BaseExchanges...but it's tiny and ooh about an hour or so away.
I've found a John Lewis and Dunelm Mill too but those places are "specialized" and crazy expensive.  (living off dollars not pounds  Undecided)

Any stores in Cambridge, London, Peterborough, chain stores, ANYTHINGGG!!! my supply is dwindling!! Any good fabric websites would be cool too (seeing as how thats how i tend to shop nowadays)

please oh please help!!!!

thank you Cheesy
10  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with beyond repair converse?? on: July 23, 2005 04:12:19 PM
I've finally retiered my beautiful red converse. They've been "repaired" about 3 or 4 times already and need a break.
and i really don't wanna just throw them away or just have them sit in the corner of my room [i love them so Cry ]
but i can't think of anything useful to do with them, so i was hopeing all you wonderful craftsters could help me out with some ideas!!

here some pictures so you have an idea of what there is to work with [and cause i love 'em]

you can see that the hole's gotten outta control
...not sure why i'm doing the star trek hand signal :/

the "repairing" held up better on this one but rocks still find their way in :/

any ideas??? i do remeber someone on I Love the 80's mentioning their mother used her old ones as plant holders but haven't figured out how that would work...

any help is appreciated!!!
