This is a beautiful pattern. How did the dress turn out?

I made my wedding dress in 2016, so I'm always excited to see what other DIY brides have come up with!

I think it's great you're interested in learning how to sew!

Here are some resources that might be useful for you. I am building a business based on teaching others to sew, so I am constantly looking for resources that would be helpful for beginners.

In general, if you'll be doing most sewing by hand, you'll want to master the BACK STITCH. This is a basic, sturdy stitch that will keep your seams together.

And whatever you start sewing, I recommend you start small with simple projects. Tote bags, aprons, and drawstring pouches are a good start.

Hope some of these can help!

Good luck!

Hi everyone!

I have been a long-time Craftster.org user; I first discovered this forum in 2008 when I was first teaching myself how to sew when I was a junior in high school. My username was jnLL.

For my inaugural post, I wanted to share a few photos of the wedding dress I made for my wedding in November 2016.

The pattern for the dress was based on a McCall's pattern I made in 2009.

Unfortunately, I am not able to post photos yet, but please feel free to click the photo links below or visit my blog: http://www.deardaydream.com/search/label/DIY%20Wedding%20Dress
