What can I do with those Mylar/metallic coffee bags? I can't find anywhere to recycle them. Can I use them for something? Or does anyone here have a need for them?

When cutting fabirc, how important is a cutting mat? They are really expensive.  Can I use something else like a piece of cardboard. I don't want to ruin my blade though. Thanks.

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Minky? on: September 03, 2008 10:55:15 PM
My daughter recently came across her cousin's minky throw. She decided she wants a throw just like it. First of all, is there somewhere can I get minky at a discount? It's quite expensive. Also, any tips on sewing it? I read that it stretches a lot. I was thinking of one side minky and one side a cool flannel print. Any tips? Thanks.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / perler bead question on: May 02, 2008 09:04:45 PM
I just bought my daughter a perler bead kit. It contains a few colors and a couple of shaped pegboards. When placing the beads, should they be placed on the pegs or in between the pegs? If they are placed on the pegs, they seem too far apart. If placed between the pegs, it's kind of a tight squeeze. Thanks.
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / fabric question on: April 16, 2008 08:24:16 PM
I bought some fabric at Joanns a couple of months ago. I don't think I have enough to make a skirt the length I want. I want to go back and buy more. Do I have to worry about it matching like when you buy yarn of a different lot #? Thanks.
