11  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Going choli crazy! on: July 06, 2009 04:14:36 PM
I love the one made from the sari fabric! I don't need any new garb this year either, but it's so hard to stop... lol

Do you usually do Indian, or just at Pennsic?

Cute! What are the links made of?

Some people wear them for dancing, but they can be worn any time. Sorry about the link - here's a good one: http://www.feoragdubh.eastkingdom.org/Patterns/choli203.gif

Thanks all! I always use cotton for my cholis - very lightweight, cool, comfortable, and period as well. Sorry about the link - I think this one should work: http://www.feoragdubh.eastkingdom.org/Patterns/choli203.gif

Thank you! (p.s. I, too, am a DCFC fan.)
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Nightcrawler shirt! (and a simple dress.) on: June 20, 2009 07:43:13 AM
I had an old white T-shirt, which is not allowed. So now it features Nightcrawler from X-men! On the front is the noise he makes when he teleports, complete with comic-book kitsch:

And on the back is his silhouette, in gloriously tacky fabric marker:

Also, because I didn't feel like starting a new post: I LOVE those cheater dresses from Joanne Fabrics. You know, where the fabric comes with crinkly bits at the top, and you just sew it to fit your body size? I also added a green sash. It took, like, half a sec. I also was too lazy to actually put it on. Noticing a pattern here?

Hope you like!
