1  The Debbie Downer aka A Backstitching Odyssey in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: November 05, 2017 07:33:04 AM

Finished this little demotivator for a pal's spouse last night...I watched three films whilst just doing the backstitching around the font and borders...my hand hurts from the time spent, and my bum hurts or feels more pancake like from the hours of fusion to my sofa.  But I love how it turned out, and hopefully my pal, and their spouse will too!

2  And now for something a little risque. Church tongue. in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: October 21, 2017 08:31:56 AM

This project, which I'm calling Church Tongue, took quite awhile as it was my first stitching on linen.  My eyes are bleeding from all the counting and recounting.  I am not a delicate effing flower that's for sure after all that.  Looking forward to some aida based stitching on something new tonight, but I'm pleased with how this turned out (except my randomly good/bad french knots-I mean why do I bother?).

3  Muff Diver. For Lovers of Warmth and Tenderness in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: July 31, 2017 03:12:14 PM

My newest design and finish.  Muff Diver.  Yummy Smiley

Inspired by lots of fantastic art nouveau ironwork I spotted on a recent research trip to Paris, especially that seen at station Abesses and Reaumur-Sebastopol stations of the Paris métropolitain.  love love love.

4  Nelson Mandala is finished! in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: July 16, 2017 11:19:37 AM
Finally finished stitching this bad boy, Nelson Mandala.  Designed it myself and based it on the Simpsons' character Nelson Mandela Muntz.  Had a lovely time designing and stitching it...I liked the fact too that I could see progress every day!  Enjoy!

5  Little Miss Molly's Outdoor Adventure in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: May 08, 2017 08:53:28 AM
It appears Molly has had it up to there with the likes of her little bonnetted friend. I did too and stabbed this beauty out over a few days and get past the rage. Of course, I also like subverting hokey stuff that reminds me of those bygone, but more innocent days of childhood when we smoked in the girls' room, listened to Motley Crue, and teased our hair closer to heaven with toothbrushes and Aquanet.

**added a little X over the curse word if that's useful for the moderators!

7  Taco Bella in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: March 27, 2017 12:28:02 PM
Welp I've abandoned one of my larger projects to start another  large project, but then got sidetracked with another little wee weekender I'm calling Taco Bella.  I made a pizza themed piece for my daughter at Christmas, I'll give this one to my son for his birthday while adding the pattern to my catalogue.

I'm enjoying playing with simple embroidery...a new skill I'd like to further cultivate and incorporate into my cross-stitching.  I'm also a fan of pretty much anything art nouveau inspired, so, like my pizza piece, I added my own little art nouveau spin on this.  Hope you like it!

9  Dark Knight Indeed in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: March 19, 2017 11:43:00 AM
Last one for a bit...a few larger projects are now on my lap so they will take awhile.

This little weekender entitled 'Dark Knight Indeed' actually took me a little more time than anticipated...24 DMC floss colours were used to convey depth in this otherwise brooding silhouette.  Happy with the final product though!

10  Re: Boozing Besties...fresh off my lap and ready for the iron! in Needlework: Completed Projects by crafterdark on: March 13, 2017 05:37:04 PM
and fixed....with grammar and syntax too!

So does this happen to other people?  stitching away with lettering and omitting whole words, forgetting a letter, repeating words or letters?  I apparently do this a lot!
