1  First Messenger/Laptop Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wenders on: July 26, 2006 09:25:20 AM
I made this bag for my sister in law & her laptop  Wink.  The inside divider and back panel are both padded so her laptop doesn't get hurt if the bag gets banged or something.  Feedback/Comments appreciated!

Outside (it really is straight - its just the way it was hanging for the pic  Tongue)

3  Re: CHALLENGE :5: YOUR OBSESSION! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by wenders on: July 11, 2006 09:41:59 AM
This challenge came just in time, I've been wanting to do one but was lacking the inspiration for a design on the previous challenges, but this weekend I'll be going to see my favorite band in Calgary and wanted/needed a fun cool tote to carry with me. This is what I've come up with:

Bag Title: Third Day Tote

Your Obsession: Third Day

Bag picture(s):

The faces are made out of felt and I embroidered on the eyes etc and the letters are iron on fuzzies.

4  Can you help me? Looking for a pattern... in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by wenders on: July 06, 2006 10:32:57 AM
Hi everyone,
I'm having issues  Roll Eyes then again who isn't?
My younger brother is getting married in October and I have been stressing about what to wear.  The wedding is a fall theme... and is going to be fairly dressy, not stuffy & la tee da but nice & classy if that makes sense?  Undecided
Anyway, I found this jacket today which I think is the perfect color & style - modern but classic  - we'd like to coordinate in the photos but since I'm not in the wedding I think a similar color to the moms would be ok since I would only be in a couple of family photos (the bridesmaids are wearing a cinnamony orange color and the guys are wearing black suits, bride is wearing an ivory dress, and mother of the bride & mother in law are wearing champagne colored outfits).
This is the jacket:

To go with the jacket I've found this skirt which I think would make the whole outfit a bit more fun & funky.... so my issue is that to get this skirt it would cost too much money with shipping & everything  Roll Eyes So I'm hoping has anyone ever seen a pattern for a skirt like this or similar or if you think they really don't go together well do you have any suggestions of a pattern for a skirt that would go?  Thanks so much for your input!

5  Re: Mmm Mmm Good! Campbell's Soup Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wenders on: May 14, 2006 11:20:26 AM
Thanks again for the nice comments Smiley Here is the coin pouch I made to match, I had a transfer left over and didn't want to waste it!  I haven't made a phone pouch yet.

(Please excuse the quality of the pic.. I took it with my camera phone  Roll Eyes)

The website that I got the pics from is http://www.gono.com/adart/campbells/campbellshmpge/mask_campbell_soup_ads.htm
The ones I took were from, I think 1927-1929 Smiley

6  Mmm Mmm Good! Campbell's Soup Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wenders on: May 13, 2006 04:29:08 PM
Here is a bag I just completed for my aunt who collects all things Campbell's Soup... I really like how it turned out so I had to share.  As soon as I find out what type of cell phone she has I plan on making a matching cell phone pouch as well as a change purse, will post those photos whenever I get them completed.  Comments welcome  Smiley
(Please ignore the backdrop in the pics... the chair isn't nearly as ugly in person!  Tongue)

7  Summer Fun Island Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wenders on: March 03, 2006 05:31:59 AM
I got some really cool vintage fabric off eBay a few months ago, and wasn't sure what to do with it.  I then found a wonderful bright yellow remnant at the fabric store and new what to do with both  Smiley
To make the entire bag cost me about 3$ to make, with fabric, interfacing etc.  I ended up putting a green ribbon that matches the trees around the part where the yellow meets the print, it seems to set if off nicely (no pics of the new addition - sorry!)
I kind of think its still missing something, but I can't decide, I was debating on maybe some of that beaded fringe around the top - I saw some really cool stuff at the fabric store with sea shells on it. I don't know if adding any thing else will take away from the print tho.
Anyhoo, this is my new fun bag for Summer.. if it ever gets here  Wink.  Any suggestions? Thanks!

(Sorry about the crappy pics, I used my camera phone - must remember to charge batteries for digi cam  Roll Eyes)

9  My First Attempts... (lots of pics) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by wenders on: August 04, 2005 07:28:01 PM
Hi everyone  Smiley
One day while I was at work I stumbled across craftster.org and was totally inspired!  So many talented people in one place!  I love handbags but had never sewn before so I was kind of nervous of where to start... I used the Jordy bag tutorial and it was the easiest thing ever!

I wanted a cute handbag that was semi dressy but still fun, this is what I came up with:

After doing that and liking the outcome I decided to make my friend a bag for the back of his wheelchair... I made up the pattern according to the size of his chair and customized it to his favorite college ball team  Wink  He hasn't seen it yet, I really hope he likes it.  The smaller one is for the front of his chair... it hangs under the seat so he has easy access to his wallet & cell phone etc.

Front of Bag:

Back of Bag (the black loops at the top hook over the handles of the chair & the one at the bottom hooks around so it doesnt flip flop everywhere):

Inside of Bag:

Bag for under the seat:

Any ideas or critiques are more than welcome!
Thanks for the inspiration!
