1  The shiny joys of a Pop Tab Prom Dress. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Delighted on: May 05, 2009 02:09:54 PM
This dress is my pride and joy. It took two and a half years of both planning and construction. I can't believe it's actually completed!

I owe majormajor credit to jad2004, who posted the first ever Pop Top dress I ever saw back in 2006. Her dress was my inspiration and I even used the same type/color of stuff to weave the tabs together. [Ticker Tape. If you ever want to make a dress out of pop tabs too, I'd recommend using something else. It works good, but I'm pretty sure there's better for this.] The pictures of her dress aren't online anymore [sadface], but my dress looks similar to it.

Another person I would like to give credit for inspiration is Dark Seraphim. The bust portion of my dress came out of staring intensely at her's. [Her dress', not her real bust. xD]

There are so many beautiful pop tab dresses out there and I think every girl should make one! It's such a wonderful experience, making it and wearing it and I'm so happy I got to accomplish this! It takes a lot of patience and a ton of work but I know it was worth it all in the end.  Smiley

So, without further ado, PICTURES!

A full-scale shot of it:

Myself and my amazing boyfriend, Josh, who made Prom Night by far the greatest night of my life. <3

If you have any questions or want to see any in-progress pictures, I'm always here! Thanks for looking. ^_^

2  Pink Caution Tape Bag! Yay! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Delighted on: July 16, 2006 08:21:48 AM
This is an example of what happens when I get bored:

I wove some bright pink (Bachlorette!?) Caution Tape that one of my best friends gave me for my birthday to put on my door into this purse. The entire thing is wrapped in clear packaging tape that was stolen borrowed from my Step-Dad.

The handle is made from sparkly star beads. It looks uncomfortable, but looks are decieving and it's actually more comfortable than alot of other straps on some bags. However, I'm trying to reattach on side of the handle because the tape holding it in wasn't put in well. Other than that it's a pretty strong bag and I can carry it around everywhere. (I just jingle and sparkle whenever I walk  Grin)
The bow around the bag is just from an old T-shirt. It was cut and then tied into a bow on each side.

The inside of the bag was scribbled on with Sharpie. Many thoughts, drawings and confessions of love can be found scrawled here. Afterwards the inside was covered in the tape which made it more durable and protected the Sharpie from coming off. (Sorry for the bad picture)

Yay! I'm actually proud of it and it's my first Craft post. ^^;
