It was my friends birthday yesterday and I wanted to make her a little spring bunny girl needlefelt thingumy so came up with this

She stands about 25cms tall.  I think im getting better at doing this maybe

though her hands are waaay too big...or her head is too small i cant decide which it is.

2  Mausie in Felting: Completed Projects by sqynx on: March 04, 2017 09:42:47 AM
So for my 3rd ever needlefelting project I promised a convention that I am going to next week that I would make them something to submit to their charity auction.  So I made their mascot dressed up in a kawaii japanese theme as the theme of the convention is everything japanese.
So here is Mausie

He stands about 30cm tall

As only my thrid project I learnt a lot from this

Im amazed by how solid he is considering he's only made out of wool poked with a needle.  Its pretty incredible when you think about it.

Anyway my next project...is probably going to be a badger exploding out of a clock.  HAHAHAHAA... if I can do that then I can do anything

3  Doing Digital in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by sqynx on: February 21, 2017 04:15:47 PM
I've looked all over and cant seem to see any rules saying digital art isn't allowed...is it allowed??

I work as a freelance digital artist but recently I've been wanting to wind down a little and do some art I've been wanting to do for ages, mainly fanart of shows I love.
My primary tools is a intuos 4 graphic tablet and a paint package called painttool sai.  So heres some of my steven universe fanart ive been doodling over the past few days. I've had these images in my head for months but had too much real work to do so sneakily snuck them into some random free time I had.

4  New at this in Felting: Completed Projects by sqynx on: February 13, 2017 05:22:55 PM
So a week into the new year i finally cracked and allowed myself to start a new art project despite the several projects sat half done. I've been seriously wanting to try needle felting for years and decided to just stop putting it off and give it a go.  I can crochet fairly well..ish....so thought needle felting would be just a more violent version of that really.  I bought a cheap full needle felting kit on amazon to gauge whether needle felting was for me. it was a little teeny hedgehog and it was fun to do and was reasonable successful.  i think i lost a litre in blood....gosh those needles are sharp.  but despite the pain I was undeterred.  After the little hedgehog kit i decided to just jump right in to making stuff on my own...so here's my first err *make it up as you go along* project.  Well its actually based on a white ferret character my friend created
I thought since the character was mainly all white I could just practice with needlefelting toy stuffing instead of spending money on lots of roving.
So I ended up creating this...

Its not brilliant not by a long shot but for my first random solo project it's not too bad.  plenty of room for improvement.
My next project is going to be a mouse dressed in a japanese sailor outfit a little over ambitious I think but I never seem to make things easy for myself but heres the start at least

So hopefully it goes okay I guess only time and perseverance will tell.
