1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Little Gross Creep hath slain her sheep & now they merrily haunt her! on: November 08, 2011 09:51:43 PM

WARNING: If you belong to PETSA (People for the ethical treatment of stuffed animals) then you should be aware that this post has graphic depictions of dead stuffed animals. Although actual plushie blood was used for effect, and no stuffed animals were actually harmed, these animals are not free and may be depicted in ways that might bring them shame if these photos were to surface in their hometowns.

Everyone thought my daughter was Bo Peep when she wore the hoop dress and hat. Fourth grade is the wrong time of life to be a nursery character....so we hit the thrift store!

The BAAAA-dy bag.....spilling his guts....Sick Filet Cow in sheep's clothing

This was the actual trick or treat bag, with zipper to put treats in and get them out..made from a Disney sheep costume, a stuffed cow, fleece thread glue and marker

SHANKenstein- raised as a Baaaptist, appearing in Easter and Christmas plays, Shanken sheepie has lately begun to experiment with Baaaa-dy modification and enjoys picking up random screws.

Shank was pulled along on his doll pram by a dog leash, decked out with vintage erector set pieces, baling wire, random screws and a battery operated strobe light/thunder sound system

Vampire Baaaat-

Made from altered dog toy donkey with seed bead teef and plushie blood, rubber backed mat wings with vintage lace overlay

Plushie fleece blood-what did you think stuffed animal blood felt like? Thread and yarn blood drips. Sequins and spangles are wet blood.

vampire baaat wings

anatomy of a zaaaaambie.....plushie guts made from drapery tie backs

Hope you enjoy our little grossery rhyme...and she lived horrorbly eternally after!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas Snow Globe Car on: December 29, 2010 08:00:15 PM
I'm such a procrastinator-here are the pictures of my snow globe car last Christmas. I've added a lighted tree, packing peanut snow and lights on the trunk this year, but too busy to photograph it. Last year I used string on the ceiling, thread on the cotton balls and quilt batting on the seats, this year I put up wire for the lights, put the cotton balls on jewelry wire using netting on the ceiling and bed sacks for seat covers. I use LED's that pull almost nothing, and almost all my materials came from the thrift store including the lights. I've been pulled over once and the policeman sat in the seat and agreed my vision was not obstructed enough to merit a ticket. As for other drivers, most slow down upon approach and I unplug in extreme conditions.

This is a youtube where the local news found us in a drive through
here is where they put it on CNN.

If you don't trust links, just google snow globe car

After Christmas I put in penguins and snowflakes. Yes he's wearing a hand knit hat and scarf from the thrift

and then I left it alone until Halloween-but that would be a separate thread.
