1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: DIY from my wedding on: February 03, 2008 09:11:35 PM
Lori!!! Oh my gosh! I was going through these pictures going, hmm...that girl looks an awful lot like...hey it it! I am way too excited to see someone I know in real life on my favorite message board.

That being said, everything (and you) looks gorgeous. I absolutely love the blue, the centerpieces, and the peacock feather accents.

So good to see you on here!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Cranberry and Pumkin Soy/Wax Candles--HELP! on: November 20, 2007 11:14:30 AM
As far as I know, any fresh fruit you put into a candle will still rot/mold, so you may want to find an alternative.

I had a friend make a strawberry candle in a margarita glass for me once, and she put a fresh strawberry in it. The entire candle was ruined and I ended up throwing it away. I think soap might have the same problems but I'm not sure.

It might be fun to have some wordplay with the 7 sins on your invitation like, "We hate to be prideful, but our lust makes us greedy for attention! Come be a glutton and a sloth so we can watch you turn green with envy!

...or something like that.  Smiley
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Eddie Izzard Swap Round2 Gallery! on: July 27, 2007 09:57:54 AM
YAY! I'm so glad you liked everything...I loved making my evil giraffe, and luckily I bought enough of the leaf fabric to make a tote for myself.  Wink

I misplaced my camera for a little bit, but finally found it, so I'll try posting pictures of the stuff smashergrl sent me (as well as pics of what I sent dexterchikk) tonight after I get home from Comic-Con.

I recieved my things yesterday! I got an awesome blue/camoflauge reversable purse for members of the First Battilion Transvestite Brigade, a French Loaf stuffie and an Evil Giraffe Flag. I love it all, thank you so much Smashergrl!

My camera was at my boyfriends so I wasn't able to take pictures yet, but I'll get them posted as soon as I can.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Curling Iron/Straightener Cozy on: June 13, 2007 03:39:58 PM
That is such a great idea!!! Much better (and so much cuter!!!) than my high-tech technique of wrapping a hand towel around my straightener. Roll Eyes
9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Re: Signatures on Front on: June 07, 2007 06:05:58 PM
Something to think about, if you're a single woman, is whether or not your last name is going to change. If you plan on keeping your maiden name, then naturally you have nothing to worry about, but she had been married twice, so her projects throughout the years had different signatures on them. She encouraged all the girls in the class, to think up a signature that they could use forever, like your first initial and your middle name, or a stylized way of writing your first name with the year you did the project on it.

It's something that's always stuck with, namely because I don't like my last name and have no ties to it (from my mom's 3rd husband...she's on #5 now  Roll Eyes ).
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Re: Crafty Sentimental Gift for First Father's day for a dad who Waited a LONG time! on: June 07, 2007 05:24:55 PM
This isn't particularly crafty for you, but what about getting him a beer-making kit? My dad has one and is absolutely nuts about brewing his own beer. Then if you want to get crafty, you could design labels for his beers....maybe something with a picture of your daughter, or he and her (she and him?) together. You could call it Best Dad Beer or Superdad Beer or something...Oh! You could call it "(Your last name) Beer" and then have a tag line along the lines of "Creating great things since (year your daughter was born)".

Or my other idea was doing a scrapbook from your daughter's point of view, all, "This is my dad and he's totally awesome". I've also always thought it would be fun to do a scrapbook in a comic book style too.  Wink

Congrats for your hubby's first father's day! And a belated happy mother's day to you!
