1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Penguin Dress in time for Christmas party on: December 19, 2016 08:39:57 AM
So I took an old sweater dress, decided it needed to be more fun & it became an awesome Penguin Dress.

I got a 5X tank top (just to make sure I would have enough 'fabric') from Walmart (for $1), for the body. I cut and sewed both sides together, then added the other details.

Cut eyes from a black t-shirt's sleeve, I had left over from another project.

Then I crocheted the nose.

Most of the dress was hand sewed on, but I was able to use a sewing machine to attach the top & bottom of the body.

It was a big hit at my office Christmas party and is now my favorite dress  Grin
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Paint Night on: November 11, 2016 06:14:33 AM
I finally sat down and had a paint night with my mom (who's an Art teacher).

It was so relaxing. I haven't painted in years and it felt great to do it again.

I'm so looking forward to many more paint nights!!

Here's the original image we painted:

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Boot Cuffs on: November 09, 2016 11:25:49 AM
So, I finished my very first pair of crocheted boot cuffs (for a friend) and they came out awesome.

Here's some close-ups  Grin

I'll have to post the pattern. I kind of made it up based on some other patterns I found on Pinterest.

They are XXL though... so the pattern would need to be altered based on the calf size. I just measured hers, chained until the stitches just stretched enough to reach around (55 chains) and went from there.
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Paper Mache Mask on: November 03, 2016 01:14:24 PM
I made a paper mache mask with newspaper. I haven't paper mached anything since High School, but I had a blast.

After pinning a few different ideas, I just went to work and went nuts with the paint... Why not, if I'm goona go scary, I may as well go nuts in the process.

I'm still new, so I can't attach the images to the post.

Anyways, it was an easy, fun and cheap way to make a mask.

Happy crafting  Cheesy

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My First Post - Crocheted Pokeball baby hats on: November 02, 2016 01:19:35 PM
Hello All,

My first post is one of my more recent projects, I crocheted some pokeball baby hats (incremented sizes).   Grin

Here's the video I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX_GID0-fN8

I added another incremented row for each hat. I did make one for each ball; the Pokeball, the Great Ball and the Ultra Ball. However, since it was a gift I was in a rush and didn't get a picture of the Ultra ball since I finished it last.

I was so excited to stumble across this site, so many great projects are here. LOVE IT!

Happy Hooking!!
